In September last year, the Enshi Prefecture Procuratorate discovered clues about the case in the course of performing its duties and formally filed a case for investigation. According to the procurator in charge, Xie Moumou knew that the health care products he sold were foods that did not meet safety standards, but still purchased and sold them in large quantities for a long time, endangering the right to life and health of many unspecified consumers and harming the social public interest, and should bear civil tort liability. In April this year, the Enshi Prefecture Procuratorate filed a civil public interest lawsuit with the Enshi Prefecture Intermediate Court, "We sued and ordered Xie to pay 575,190 yuan in punitive damages ten times the sales price, and publicly apologized to the public through the media." ”
In October this year, the Enshi Prefecture Intermediate People's Court rendered a judgment in accordance with the law, fully supporting the enshi Prefecture Procuratorate's litigation claims. Up to now, Xie Moumou has paid all punitive damages and published a public apology statement in the media.
