The Chronicle of the Northern Wilderness Zhiqing - Listen to the old farmer's story about the glory of that year

The land area of each company of our regiment is basically about 1,200 acres, equivalent to 12,000 mu (1,000 square meters / mu), and it is simply impossible to rely on artificial sowing, farming management (weeding, cultivation, that is, cultivation), and harvesting.

Before we went to the 68th and 69th sessions of more than 300 Zhiqing, there were only more than 100 employees of the 20th team of the 20th Division (290 Regiment Military Reclamation, 58 years of demobilized officers and soldiers, 58 years of Shandong Zhibian youth, 63, 65 years of Beijing Zhibian youth, etc.). Each person is responsible for an average of 120 acres of land, which can be said to be unmanageable without high mechanization of agriculture. The five plots of land we have connected, in order to facilitate farming, from this land to the opposite land, the length of each of them is two thousand four or five hundred meters, that is, four or five miles.

It is said that if it were not for the Cultural Revolution, the small train ordered would have passed directly from the Suidong Wharf of the Songhua River to our farm (regiment), and later I often heard the old staff and workers regretfully recalling this period of history.

They also recalled more than once and often relished the memories - in the past, the Northeast Agricultural Reclamation Bureau held a meeting, and the General Bureau would always send a small car to pick up the three bosses of the Agricultural Reclamation Bureau at that time- 853, Friendship, and the head of the 290 farm. They never said that in order to show their wealth, they did not even want the 10% border subsidy given by the state. The soldiers of the Corps who later earned our wages were always more than 3 yuan less than other regiments (speaking of which, the old workers were worse than us, and at that time more than 30 yuan could support a family of 5).

They often proudly recall the wheat harvest season that year, (at that time, the wheat harvest was harvested because there were fewer employees, fewer automatic harvesters, and the season was not waiting for other people, so they often took the manual way to the combine harvester (that is, the tractor pulling the harvester of Camuin) - that is, the method of manually cutting out a passage to facilitate mechanical harvesting). The field commander (battalion commander) personally took the red envelope (bonus) and the meat buns and steamed buns pulled from the team (company) on the ground, rewarding the first few employees who cut first to eat meat buns with red packets, and then only eating steamed buns and stir-frying, so as to stimulate the enthusiasm of the employees. At that time, because of the lack of personnel, it was urgent. It can be said that the work was completed after dawn and darkness. Eating three meals a day in the field can be imagined that their labor intensity and physical exertion were great; the damage to their bodies was serious. When we first arrived at the Corps, when we saw the old reclamation people in their thirties and forties, we all thought they were forty or fifty years old, and basically they all looked ten years older than their actual age.

I listened to these things when I first participated in the wheat harvest in the second year of the northern wilderness, like the previously mentioned Way for The Tramin to be dragged by the tractor - the K4 automatic harvester in charge of the channel was too busy to be busy, and the harvester channel pulled by the chain rail tractor was manually cut out.

And this kind of work is different from the artificial harvesting of wheat without baling, a group of two people, separated by 5 meters a group along the eight centimeters of a ridge directly to the end of the wheat field. Cut a handful and throw it, and sprinkle the cut wheat evenly on the unharvested ears next to it. We felt very interesting about supporting the wheat harvesting and baling in the suburbs of Beijing, at that time, we whose waist had not been injured, were in a playful state of mind, you chased me and rushed to the next mission section or another passage immediately after 5 meters of cutting.

That year's wheat harvest we have not played enough, after playing the four passages of this land, it ended the manual track task of the year's wheat harvest, and we no longer needed us, because the K4 automatic harvester can already free up time to turn to the next plot before the harvest is almost completed.

This is the only person in our agricultural and industrial row for wheat harvesting, because sowing, pipe, and harvesting are all mechanized, that is, on that day, that time to Kang Mai Yin, I saw the Liberation truck sent by the battalion headquarters to each company driving in four gears, chasing and leaning next to K4, the K4 automatic harvester while harvesting and unloading grain, the other four tractors pulling Kang Mai Yin at the same time Harvesting spectacular scene, endless wheat fields, the harvester like a speeding battleship, galloping in the wheat waves, it is a picturesque scenery.

Beidahuang, Beidacang - the place where the old reclamation people are proud.
