first! Loongson processor successfully runs the open source Hongmeng system

December 16 news, today, communications company HuiRuiSitong announced that on December 9, it became the first company in China to successfully port the OpenHarmony lightweight system to the Loongson platform.

It is reported that this breakthrough benefits from the collaboration between the R&D team of Huiruiston and the local team of Loongson Guangdong, corresponding to the Loongson 1C300 processor platform, which is a key step for the strategic concept of building a new infrastructure for the pure domestic information industry of "Loongson + Hongmeng".

Huiruistong said that in the future, it will continue to develop Hongmeng system adaptation on LoongArch(LoongArch, referred to as LA) and chips, combined with the self-developed universal embedded chip based on Loongson LA computing core, to provide pure domestic Internet of Everything solutions for the 5G communication era.

The project open source page on Gitee shows that this time it is based on the latest OpenHarmony 3.0 version port, through cropping, removing unnecessary components, a simplified version, and has been released Loongson 1c300 Hongmeng 1.0 version for enthusiasts to reference and submit contributions.

Since OpenHarmony does not support MIPS architecture and Loongson, this port has overcome many difficulties and is also very meaningful. In addition to the kernel, multitasking, interrupting, and systick are all problems, but there are still some drivers that are not adapted, and the network card and FPU functions are not implemented.

According to the data, 1C300 is a cost-effective single-chip system based on the GS232 processor core of Loongson, with a built-in floating-point processing unit, support for various types of memory, and support for large-capacity MLC flash memory chips, which can be applied to industrial control, Internet of Things and other fields.
