Recently, the temperature in Qingyuan has fluctuated significantly, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and influenza has entered a high season. On December 15, the author learned from Qingyuan People's Hospital that among the children in the pediatric emergency department of the hospital, the number of influenza B patients increased significantly compared with November, and most of the children were young primary school students. Dai Rujun, director and chief physician of the pediatric emergency department of the hospital, reminded that if the flu treatment is not timely, it may cause serious consequences, and parents must pay attention to distinguishing between influenza and common cold and scientific prevention and treatment.

Young children under the age of 5 and the elderly are at high risk
"More than half of the children with fever belong to B stream." Dai Rujun introduced that the current pediatric outpatient emergency department of the hospital is also facing greater work pressure. Since entering December, the hospital's influenza-like cases of children represented by influenza B have increased significantly, and Dai Rujun said that this is related to the temperature fluctuations in Qingyuan some time ago, and the cold weather is easy to catch a cold if you are not careful, making the flu high.
Although influenza and colds are both respiratory infections, they are very different. Influenza is caused by viruses, often the onset of more urgent, there will be fever, headache, vomiting, body aches and other symptoms, generally high fever 39 ~ 40 ° C or so, and the common cold is generally not urgent, the beginning of sore throat, runny nose and other symptoms. Compared with the common cold, the flu is more contagious, spreads more rapidly, and causes greater harm to the body. Healthy people infected with mild influenza, the consequences are not serious, and most of them are self-limiting, 3 to 4 days of self-reliance. However, for young children and the elderly under 5 years old, it is necessary to be highly vigilant that it will turn into "severe influenza". "Because the severe flu condition progresses very quickly, the condition is dangerous. The course of the disease is mostly 2 to 7 days, and on the basis of pneumonia, it can progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) or circulatory failure, which may cause serious consequences, so it should not be taken lightly. Dai Rujun said.
Dai Rujun reminded parents that influenza B is a respiratory-borne disease, and in the near future, we should pay great attention to indoor ventilation, take less children to places where the population is relatively concentrated and the air does not circulate; the weather becomes cooler, and it is appropriate to add clothes for children; eat lightly, avoid being too salty and too spicy; pay attention to rest, wash your hands frequently, and change clothes frequently. At the same time, try to avoid contact with cases of fever and cough like influenza. If you find that the child's fever persists, the mental state is not good, the shortness of breath, etc., you must bring the child to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition.
At the same time, Dai Rujun said that although the flu is more contagious, parents do not need to be afraid, just face it correctly, rational treatment, influenza can be prevented and controlled and treated, if there are flu-like symptoms, please go to a regular medical institution in time.
How to effectively prevent influenza
1. Practice good personal hygiene
Wearing a mask when going out, reducing contact with items in the announcement place, washing hands frequently, using soap/hand sanitizer, and washing hands with the seven handwashing methods of running water can prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses and infections. Pay attention to coughing or sneezing etiquette to avoid droplets infecting others. Avoid others when coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or cover the inside of your elbow, and wash your hands immediately after coughing or sneezing.
2. Maintain a ceremonial distance
In social situations, try to maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from others, avoid gatherings, and try not to go to crowded public places, especially places with poor air circulation.
3. Get the flu vaccine
Influenza vaccines are effective in preventing influenza and are one of the main measures to control influenza. In China, the time of influenza vaccination is generally from September to November of each year, because winter is the season of influenza, and vaccination before a large-scale outbreak of influenza can maximize the protection of vaccinated people.
4. Enhance resistance
Strengthening physical activity and getting enough sleep are all well known ways to boost your resistance. But in fact, resistance can also be supplemented by "eating". For example, onions and garlic have a strong sterilization and disinfection effect, which can help the human body prevent influenza; white radish contains a large number of organic sulfur compounds and rich vitamin C, trace element zinc, which can enhance the body's cold resistance.
5. Dress moderately
Winter dressing is also a matter of elegance, too much is not good. Dress in moderation and carry a jacket with you, adding or subtracting according to the environment and occasion is the best way to do it.
