Making history Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich bring in an 18-year-old Chinese goalkeeper

On the afternoon of December 16, Beijing time, Bayern Munich Football Club in the Bundesliga announced that it had signed a contract with 18-year-old Chinese goalkeeper Liu Shaoziyang until June 30, 2025. The youngster also became the first Chinese player in the history of the Bundesliga giants.

After Bayern's official announcement, Liu Shaoziyang's former owner, Wuhan Sanzhen Football Club, also issued an official announcement on Weibo to bless the youngster. Liu Shaoziyang said excitedly in an interview with Bayern's official website: "Thank you very much Bayern Munich! Being one of the greatest clubs in the world has given me such a rare opportunity and joining Bayern is a huge honour for me. In my hometown, there are so many Bayern fans, I feel extremely proud and joyful! ”

Liu Shaoziyang was born in December 2003 and entered the youth training echelon of Wuhan Three Towns in 2014. In 2016, Liu Shaoziyang, as a member of the "Overseas Star Training Program" in Wuhan's three towns, went to Barcelona, Spain to study and receive football training. Last year, Liu Shaoziyang began training with the first team of wuhan's three towns. As one of the most outstanding goalkeepers in the same age group, Liu Shaoziyang has also been selected for the national youth team. In 2019, he participated in the "Huashan Cup" International Youth Football Championship and the 8th China-Russia Youth Games with the U16 National Junior Team.

At the beginning of this year, Bayern and Wuhan Sanzhen Club reached a cooperation agreement to jointly cultivate Chinese youth players, Liu Shaoziyang became the first player jointly trained by the two clubs, and went to the Bayern youth training base in Munich, Germany, to train, and then appeared in the Bayern youth team competition. In August of that year, Liu Shaoziyang participated in the pre-season training camp of Bayern Munich U19.
