In 2011, Xiaoying, a young woman under 20 years old in Loudi City, Hunan Province, frequently suffered from chest tightness, difficulty breathing and even fainting after exercise, and it was found that congenital heart disease was secondary to severe pulmonary hypertension. Subsequently, Xiaoying underwent surgery to repair the ventricular septal defect at the Second Xiangya Hospital, but secondary pulmonary hypertension has gradually developed into Eisenmenger syndrome. Heart-lung combination transplant surgery is the only effective method for treating the end-stage of "Eisenmenger syndrome", and it is also a high-risk and difficult surgery recognized by the world medical community.

On October 17, 2014, Liu Ai (pseudonym), an 11-year-old boy from Hunan Province, completed his short life journey due to ineffective treatment for brain tumors. His parents donated 7 tissues and organs at once, including the heart and lungs. Xiaoying and Liu Ai were successfully matched. The hospital set up a special medical team to complete the heart-lung combination transplant for Xiaoying after 5 hours. After the operation, Xiaoying reviewed on time under the guidance of the doctor, took anti-rejection drugs, and recovered well.

In 2020, Xiaoying formed a family and had the idea of becoming pregnant and having a child. According to Professor Zhou Xinmin of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of The Second Xiangya Hospital, the postoperative pregnancy of the recipient of the heart-lung combination transplant is a high-risk pregnancy with great risk. According to Xiaoying's situation, the team of doctors of The Second Xiangya Hospital adjusted the anti-rejection drugs and immunosuppressive programs in real time to prepare Xiaoying for pregnancy, pregnancy and childbirth.

At the beginning of 2021, Xiaoying naturally conceived successfully. Since then, the hospital has gathered experts to carry out perinatal maternal cardiovascular MDT consultations for Xiaoying many times, and decided to perform a caesarean section for Xiaoying when she was 38 weeks pregnant. On November 15th, under the "escort" of obstetrics and anesthesiology experts and surgical teams of the Second Xiangya Hospital, Xiaoying successfully gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
