Lenovo's "new IT" empowers industrial development and occupies the high ground of digital transformation in the energy industry

Entering a new stage of development in the "14th Five-Year Plan", the "digital economy" is mentioned more and more frequently, and digital transformation has become the "only way" for industrial development. The outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan clearly points out that it is necessary to promote the construction of a network power, accelerate the construction of a digital economy, digital society and digital government, and drive the transformation of production methods, lifestyles and governance methods as a whole with digital transformation. By 2025, the added value of core industries in the digital economy will increase to 10% of GDP.

Under the guidance of the 3S strategy, Lenovo pioneered and initiated the "end-edge-cloud-network-intelligence" and "new IT" intelligent infrastructure in the industry to continuously empower the digital transformation of the energy industry: Through years of technology precipitation and industry deep cultivation, Lenovo has created a number of leading technology platforms based on artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of Things, AR and blockchain technology, while adhering to the concept of "everything is service", building a sound TruScale service brand and capabilities, bringing multi-dimensional efficiency improvement to energy customers.

Lenovo's survey results on energy enterprise IT and decision makers show that the digital transformation of enterprises will bring enterprises six aspects of value, including employee productivity improvement, data-driven business value improvement, customer experience improvement, process automation improvement, business innovation ability improvement, and supply chain optimization.

Lenovo has also continued to exert efforts in these six dimensions, with remarkable results: Lenovo has helped employees improve production efficiency and ensure production safety through digital tools such as mobile smart devices; provided effective business insights through big data analysis algorithms to help decision makers optimize business management; through data collection and analysis, understand the needs of energy consumers and drive "customer-centric" business innovation; improve the degree of business and process automation through process automation robots; and through digital platforms such as big data and the Internet of Things. Enhance the digital technology capabilities of enterprises, support enterprises to innovate products and services, rely on the flow of new technologies and data throughout the industry chain, and build an ecological smart energy supply chain platform, so that efficient collaboration between upstream and downstream of the supply chain and cost reduction and efficiency increase are possible.

Based on the long-term deep cultivation of the industry and Know-How, Lenovo has targeted the practical problems of industry customers in the process of production operation and operation management with cutting-edge technology, and has accumulated a wealth of successful cases.

Liu Wenchao revealed that since 2017, Lenovo has been trying new technology applications in local energy companies such as "three barrels of oil", "two networks", five major power generation groups and Zhejiang Energy. At the scene, he also detailed several typical "new IT" practical cases in the energy industry.

For example, through the "Internet of Things + AR", Lenovo helped Shanghai Electric Power build the "Liantang New Horizon Internet of Things Platform" at the largest 1000KV UHV substation in the country. The platform uses AR, thermal imaging cameras and robots and other equipment to achieve unified management of monitoring equipment and services and data, which is convenient for on-site duty personnel to use, which greatly improves the efficiency of inspection, reduces the error rate, and enhances the effectiveness of management while improving the degree of informatization of each link. The data shows that Lenovo has helped Shanghai Electric Power save more than 60% of manual inspection work.

In terms of energy big data construction, Lenovo assisted Liaoning Electric Power to complete the Northeast Energy Big Data Center Project, effectively integrated and shared the big data of Northeast Energy using industrial Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies, and took the lead in the application and innovation of energy big data, providing effective support for the precise scheduling and production of the energy industry and refined equipment management. In the end, with the help of Lenovo, Liaoning Electric Power saved 10% of ineffective power supply and innovated 80 new service applications.

At the same time, Lenovo's high-performance computer group can provide super computing power for energy exploration, and can play an important role in the extraction of geothermal energy and natural gas. In cooperation with Sinopec, Lenovo has increased its exploration efficiency by 20% and oil production by 5% in the oil and gas exploration process through the application of high-performance computing.

At the scene, Zhang Yihao, deputy director of the SASAC News Center, Wang Jiye, deputy chief information officer of State Grid Co., Ltd., Wu Xingping, director of the Big Data Center of State Grid Co., Ltd., Yang Zhengxin, director of the Information Center of China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd., Wang Heming, director of the Department of Science and Technology Innovation and Informatization of China Datang Group Co., Ltd., Li Jianfeng, deputy director of the Information and Digital Management Department of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation Co., Ltd., and other leaders visited lenovo's smart energy booth to gain a deeper understanding of Lenovo's "new IT" concept. The industry leadership of empowering the high-quality development of smart energy with full-stack solutions has attracted a large number of spectators to stop.

In addition, Lenovo has also integrated its own benchmarking practical experience in the energy industry and released the Lenovo Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry White Paper and the Lenovo Power Industry White Paper. In the "Lenovo High Performance Computing Solution White Paper" launched this year, Lenovo also systematically and scenario-basedly demonstrated the solutions of high-performance computing in the petroleum and petrochemical industry, and applied Lenovo's cutting-edge technology to the digital transformation of the energy industry.

This year is the opening year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the development of the energy industry is moving towards green and intelligent, and the integration of the digital revolution and the energy revolution is the general trend. Lenovo fully responds to the changing trend of energy structure transformation and upgrading, continues to exert the advantages of "new IT" intelligent infrastructure, and empowers more energy industry customers with green digital transformation.
