Walking through mountain roads, crossing ravines, crossing ridges... During the summer season, officers and men of a certain company's patrol line maintenance team at a certain base of the Air Force greeted the rising sun, braved the scorching sun, traveled hundreds of kilometers to carry out line patrol work, and overhauled many hidden dangers of line failure.

On the thorny mountain road, the officers and soldiers on the patrol tasted the sweet and sour taste of wild strawberries and wild mountain apricots, and instructor Gou Yue said with a smile: "Every patrol of the line is a special 'battle journey.' ”

Female soldiers also have "patrol lines"

Sergeant Chen Yudan is a telephone operator who has been working at Desk 1 for many years and is curious about the task of patrolling the line. In June of this year, she had the honor of participating in the patrol security mission, and she was very excited and full of expectations for the unknown ahead...

From the hustle and bustle of high-rise buildings to the desolate countryside and mountains, along the tall cable poles, Chen Yudan walked down step by step to inspect the national defense optical cables. There are countless fibers thinner than a hair in these thick black cables, and the importance of military information is that these optical fibers are transmitted in all directions, and its importance is self-evident.

Along the smooth country road, the patrol team walked for about a kilometer, and the cable poles "turned" toward the top of the mountain, and they also changed direction one after another, the black cable poles faced the sun and shone brightly, vigorously and powerfully supporting the thick optical cables, and winding and circling in the rolling mountains like dragons. Although he experienced wind and rain, he still stood resolutely on the line leading to the battlefield.

Looking up at the mountain, the steep slopes have no steps, and all you can see is the weeds that can't be named. Chen Yudan, who had never climbed the northwest mountain, followed the team and climbed up the mountain step by step. She could only cling to the weeds around her. At the end of the line was Deputy Company Commander Zhu Yaqi, who shouted, "Climb slowly on your side..."

Jumping down from a small dirt slope at the foot of the mountain and patting the soil on his body, Chen Yudan looked back at this mountain that had just been defeated, and he couldn't help but laugh: "There are comrades-in-arms who share weal and woe, and why are they afraid of crossing the mountains and mountains." ”

Coming to a country road, a group of people appeared in front of us, busy pushing a white pickup truck that had fallen into a ditch by the side of the road. Because the driver was "confused for a while", he drove into the vegetable field, fortunately, the person was fine, but he hit a cable pole. The fellow villagers knew that they had broken into trouble, sincerely apologized, and called the villagers around them to help straighten the pole with oil rope.

The pole was fixed, and comrade-in-arms Zhang Jiehao climbed the pole to return the cable to position. "It's really timely, I climbed out of the car and found that I had crashed into the defense cable rod, and I was worried and scared, and you will appear!" After seeing the correction of the cable rod that was hit and crooked, the fellow said with a smile.

Wherever there is a problem with the line, it is the battlefield of the signal troops! Before leaving, the patrol soldiers smiled and reminded their compatriots: "Don't be confused after driving, safety is the most important!" The fellow waved goodbye with some embarrassment.

"386 poles, is today's result, the girls are physically good!" When the patrol returned to the team, platoon leader Tang Yajun said with satisfaction.

The "Climbing Tiger" of the Outside Class

Step on the northwest loess soil and climb the high rocks of Jincheng by hand. The measurement of nearly 500 kilometers of lines step by step, as a day for ten years, is a vivid portrayal of the task of patrolling the line by Sergeant Yang Lin of the outer line detachment of a certain company of the general staff station of a certain air force base.

This year, Yang Lin once again led the team. According to the usual practice, this mission is nearly half a month, and if you calculate it, you have to walk an average of more than 30 kilometers a day, and if you encounter difficult lines, the task is even more arduous.

In the morning, the patrol team was ready to leave, Yang Lin looked at the sky, looked at the comrades around him, lit up his voice and shouted "go.".

Soon after marching, the procession stopped at the foot of a mountain. Looking at the top of the mountain, a lone telephone pole and the hillside almost became two parallel lines.

"This slope is also too steep, this is a whole thing!" The superior soldier Anqiwen drew it with his hand and said in surprise.

"I'll go first, and everyone will follow up." Just when everyone was looking at the pole and worried, they saw Yang Lin's arrow rush forward, slamming his feet into a sharp slope, grasping the rock with both hands, propping it up with force, and flipping up the top of the slope, making clean and neat movements.

"Come, I'll pull you up!" After going uphill, Yang Lin leaned down and forcefully pulled everyone from the steep slope at almost right angles to the top of the mountain, and beads of sweat spilled on the placket of the camouflage suit, and he completely ignored it.

"I've been wrestling with this kind of difficulty for more than 10 years." Yang Lin said while walking that there was no road on the high slopes of the loess in this area, because they walked all year round, and they walked into a road.

Here, many of the poles are "hidden" next to thick trees, making it more difficult to patrol the line. Along the way, the rangers could only walk down steep slopes, on the edge of cliffs, and in the grass. After a while, Yang Lin quickly fastened his seat belt, put on the foot buckle, and carried the tools, and climbed steadily up the pole on this steep slope, and the pole action in one fell swoop attracted everyone to clap their hands and applaud.

At this moment, Yang Lin was like a stout "climbing tiger", tightly attached to the pole. He put the pulling wire and the wrapped coil in a fixed position, and carefully nailed the pole guard plate engraved with the words "National Defense Optical Cable Destruction Violation", and the 8 large characters standing in the air were particularly eye-catching.

"When we maintain lines and ensure communications, we are a matter of combat readiness for the troops." Yang Lin smiled and said that he and the patrol team began to move forward again. In the distance, between the lofty mountains and mountains, they erected a series of communication lines leading to the battlefield.

Polar Search Patrol "Connected Signal"

"The optical terminal and the networking system alarm, and the telephone is not connected." Last winter, a certain station suddenly encountered a line interruption failure, and the superior instructed someone to send someone to find the breakpoint and the joint communication number.

Fourth-class sergeant major Tang Yajun and Corporal Xia Xuan took a coat and set off, walking along the communication line while checking. Because the distance is too far to see the line, they can only look at the bottom of the line while walking.

There is no road below the line, it is full of low shrubs with thorns, and after 3 kilometers, no break point has been found. Just about 5 kilometers away, they saw that there was an optical cable pulling on the pole, and they couldn't care about the lack of oxygen, so they excitedly ran to the pole in front of them and found that the × line pole was indeed the breakpoint.

The signal was finally found on the top of the hill, and Tang Yajun reported the location of the breakpoint to the station and reported the situation. At this time, it was nearly 5 p.m., and the sun was about to set. I felt exhausted due to physical exhaustion. But at this moment, I have reached the mountainside, and it is too difficult to go up the mountain, so I can only go down the mountain.

Resting in place for a moment, they continued to walk down in the direction of the communication line. I thought I could get back to camp soon, but who would have thought that the way down the hill was harder than before. It had just snowed two days ago, knee-deep snow and ice, and it was difficult to stand on the ground. They wrapped up their coats, sat on the ground, and "skied" down little by little. It took more than 40 minutes for the small bush, the coat was pierced several times, the camouflage suit was all soaked, and the wind blew hard.

Hungry and thirsty all the way. The phone was out of the signal, and it was dark. After walking for another hour, it was nearly 9 o'clock in the evening, and finally approached a village. The telephone had a signal, and then the company called: the line had been repaired, and at what location, the car was sent to pick it up.

Back at the company, it was already 11 o'clock in the evening, and they collapsed on the bed without eating. When Tang Yajun took off his shoes, he found that the heel insoles of the combat boots that had just been changed for a few days had worn through two large holes, the socks did not look like it, and the fingers of the feet were all exposed.

Afterwards, some comrades-in-arms said that they were really bold, and they heard from their compatriots that there were occasional wolves infested at night on the mountains over there. Hearing this, they couldn't help but feel cold in their backs, a little afraid. But think about the next drill task, the signal can be connected in time, they feel worth it.
