Sure enough, in the seventeenth year of Guangxu, Cixi began to choose concubines for Guangxu, and Manchu women between the ages of 13 and 18 at that time had to participate in the general election, so on the day of the draft, Guangxu took a look at Zhenfei and planned to make her empress, but was instructed by Cixi to give The Jade Ruyi representing the empress to Yehenara Jingfen, after which she became empress.
