Du Yuesheng's original name was "Du Yuesheng", and because he accepted Zhang Taiyan's suggestion, he changed his name to Du Yuesheng.
Du Yuesheng is a strict parent. Because of his own experience and lessons, Du Yuesheng attaches special importance to family education and has strict requirements for his children. His sons and daughters-in-law, daughters and sons-in-law are numerous, the whole family is harmonious, and the children and grandchildren are full of halls.
In 1948, Chiang Ching-kuo carried out economic reforms in Shanghai and cracked down the big tiger of profiteers. In order to kill the chicken and scare the monkey, Du Weiping, Du Yuesheng's third son, was arrested.
When his son was detained, Du Yuesheng was disgraced, and he said to Fan Shao: "I have held Chiang Kai-shek for so many years, and to this day, even my son has been arrested by him, and now there is no concession, and it is time for them to ask me to step down."
Forced to do so, Du Yuesheng had to publish a newspaper to express his support for Chiang Ching-kuo. But the hundred-footed insect is dead but not stiff, and Du Yuesheng's generation of tyrants is not so easy to deal with. He secretly investigated the illegal acts of Kong Xiangxi's eldest son Kong Lingkan and handed over the evidence to Chiang Ching-kuo. Chiang Ching-kuo had no choice but to send someone to search Forcing.
Kong Lingkan found his aunt Song Meiling, and Song Meiling was furious. Chiang Kai-shek had no choice but to stop Chiang Ching-kuo's actions. Chiang Ching-kuo's reforms failed, and Yan Qi returned to Nanjing, and Du Weiping was subsequently released. Du Yuesheng once again showed his strength.
After this storm, Du Yuesheng sighed: "Chiang Kai-shek took me as a night pot, and after using it, he hid it under the bed."
In March 1949, Du Yuesheng settled in Hong Kong and died in Hong Kong in August 1951. Leaving behind an inheritance of US$100,000 and HK$100,000, the US dollars were kept by Song Ziwen and the Hong Kong dollars were kept by Zhu Rushan. The will instructed him to buy him a coffin, wear a robe and a coat, and hope to one day be buried in his hometown of Gaoqiao Town, Shanghai.
Before his death, Du Yuesheng said to his beloved daughter Du Meiru: "I have no hope, you still have hope, China still has hope."
Du Yuesheng's children were all upright and kind, and none of them took Du Yuesheng's old path. Many have real talents and practical learning, distributed all over the world, and serve the society in a down-to-earth manner.
Du Yuesheng had eight sons and three daughters, namely: Du Weifan, the eldest son of the eldest wife Shen Yueying; the second wife Chen Shuiying had three sons, Du Weihuan, Du Weihan, and Du Weining; the third wife, Sun Peihao, two sons, Du Weiping and Du Weixin; the fourth wife, Yao Yulan, four children, sons Du Weishan and Du Weisong, and daughters Du Meiru and Du Meixia. Du Meijuan, the adopted daughter of the fifth wife Meng Xiaodong.
The eldest son, Du Weifan, works in a Taiwanese bank. The second son, Du Weihuan, served with United Nations Headquarters. The third son, the fourth son, Du Weiping, Du Weixin, did business in Brazil, the United States and other places. The fifth son, Du Weihan, graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy and remained in Shanghai. The sixth son, Du Weining, also died in Shanghai. The seventh son, Du Weishan, first worked in the geological department of Taiwan and then moved to Canada to do business. The eighth son, Du Weixin, died early in Taiwan.
The eldest daughter, Du Meiru, married a Taiwanese pilot, and later her husband became a Jordanian diplomat, so she settled in Jordan. Du Yuesheng loved this daughter very much and wanted to see her get married, but unfortunately did not wait for that day.
The second miss Du Meixia was born to the fourth wife, but she was raised by Meng Xiaodong, so she had a better relationship with Meng Xiaodong. In his later years, Meng Xiaodong was taken care of by him. The third miss Du Meijuan is the adopted daughter of Meng Xiaodong, and Because of her insistence on marrying a Chinese-American diplomat, Meng Xiaodong severed the mother-daughter relationship with her. In order to ask for forgiveness, Du Meijuan knelt in front of Meng Xiaodong's door for a day and a night, and Meng Xiaodong was still stubborn. After Meng Xiaodong's death, her family found that she hid every letter of her daughter around her and watched it repeatedly.
