On December 13, the "2021 Bridge and Tunnel Development And Innovation Conference and Bridge and Tunnel Innovation Achievements Exhibition" opened in Chongqing. Meng Jie said that the so-called humanistic design is "people-oriented design". The basic principles of bridge building are safety, applicability, economy, and beauty, and how to properly meet and balance these four elements, which is the art of bridge building. The design of a bridge should not only meet the diverse travel needs of residents, but also meet people's multi-level aesthetic feelings such as the bridge itself and urban space, and also pay attention to ecology and quality to meet people's pursuit and yearning for high-quality life.
"For example, the Chongqing Liangjiang Bridge we designed is very slender in appearance, giving people a sense of standing tall, and we think that the simple, atmospheric and light bridge can stand the test." According to Meng Jie, Lin T.Y.
