On June 30, 2021, Hainan Province celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China – the large-scale musical and dance epic "Liberation of Hainan Island" premiered in Haikou. The play was selected as a key support work in the "Centennial 100 Works" creation plan of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China Stage Art Creation Project".

The play is divided into a prologue and four chapters, consisting of sixteen wonderful songs and dances and three unforgettable dances. "The rehearsal of the cast has changed a lot, the time is tight, and the actors are completing an impossible task."
