Recently, after the investigation and appraisal of cultural relics and archaeology experts in Yunnan Province, the site of the blue and white porcelain ancient kiln in Zhenxiong County belongs to the blue and white porcelain manufacturing site of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The ancient kiln site covers an area of about 100 acres, and its scale is the first time to be found in Zhaotong City and surrounding areas.
In early September this year, Zhenxiong County, in the investigation of cultural relics in the Chishui River Basin, found that there were a large number of blue and white porcelain pieces in a cultivated land of the Bowl Factory Villagers Group of admiralty Community in Ele Town. Its large number and area have attracted the attention of the local cultural and tourism department, and immediately invited cultural relics and archaeology experts in the province to investigate.
Recently, Zhang Yongkang, researcher, director of the Yunnan Provincial Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee, director of the Southwest Cultural Relics Export Appraisal Station of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, and porcelain appraisal expert, Zhao Yun, associate researcher and deputy director of the Yunnan Provincial Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee, and Ji Xueping, researcher and researcher of the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, were invited to the site of the blue and white porcelain ancient kiln in Yile Town to conduct field investigation and collect porcelain specimens. Among them, a large blue and white bowl found in the homes of local people was identified as Ming Dynasty porcelain and belonged to the national third-class cultural relics.

It is an ancient dragon kiln, the area is relatively large, the distribution is relatively wide, such a large scale of dragon kiln is estimated to be more than one, there may be several, we think this is a major discovery.
The expert group believes that the Zhenxiong kiln loading firing method is a common form of astringent circle stacked porcelain firing in the Song and Yuan dynasties, and the firing method is dragon kiln wood firing. The shape of the vessel is mainly cups, plates, bowls, bowls, and single-ear jars. Decorative methods include blue glaze, painting blue flowers, full application of cobalt materials, etc., with a variety of types of utensils, rich decoration and other characteristics.

Kiln sites such as this large-scale production of blue and white porcelain are relatively rare in the whole of Yunnan Province, and it is very important to study the past trade relations in Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou.
The expert group suggested that Zhenxiong should protect the site as an immovable cultural relic as soon as possible, and at the same time apply for archaeological excavations to carry out in-depth research on the site; from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage inheritance, the re-firing of Zhenxiong kilns can be promoted, which can contribute to the revitalization of rural areas, the development of ceramic industry, the development of cultural tourism, and the promotion of local economy.
It is understood that Yunnan is one of the important production areas of ancient Chinese blue and white porcelain, and there are Jianshui kilns, Yuxi kilns and Dali kilns that have been found in the province. The Zhenxiong Yile kiln site will be another major discovery in Yunnan Province in terms of ancient kiln sites, and it also shows that Zhenxiong County has developed transportation, commerce and manufacturing in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
