Fearful, Chen Hou was tied to Zhang and Concubine Kong, and was pulled up by the Sui army with a rope and taken prisoner.
Chen Guo thus perished.
After Princess Lechang was captured, she was favored by Yang Su, the Duke of Yue, and brought back to Yang Mansion, where she was very favored by Yang Su. Xu Deyan wandered around and went through hardships. In the first month of this year, he traveled thousands of miles and finally came to the Beijing Division.
Soon, the moon (the fifteenth day of the first month) arrived. On this day, he went to the market of the Beijing Division to visit the news according to the pre-agreed method. Suddenly, a servant holding a half-bronze mirror was seen, shouting and bargaining. People laughed. Xu Deyan was overjoyed, greeted him, led the man directly to his residence, and brought wine and food to entertain, however, he took out half of the mirror and closed it.

Princess Lechang received poetry and cried so much that she couldn't eat.

During the banquet, Yang Su asked the princess to give poetry.

After the banquet, Yang Su asked Princess Lechang to return to Jiangnan with Xu Deyan, "and ended up old" with Xu Deyan.
Since then, people have used the term "broken mirror to reunite" to describe the tragic and joyful things that couples encountered misfortune and later reunited.
