3 veterans of the Luoyang Defense War reunited after 71 years

Veterans gathered to talk about the guns and bullets of that year At 10 a.m. on the 24th, on the second floor of a restaurant on Chaoyang Road in Beijing, 3 people arrived one after another. Although they all lived in Beijing, they never met again after they dispersed from the defense of Luoyang. Xue Gang, a Beijing volunteer in charge of the veterans' gathering, told reporters that in recent years, he has been doing the filming of the oral history of veterans, and has photographed 3 elderly people respectively, so he planned this veteran gathering.

"I am from the 15th Army, Wu Tinglin's troops, which army are you in?" Deaf in the ears, when defending Luoyang, you were bombarded by artillery, you are loud," Zhang Cuiping, an 89-year-old female soldier from Henan, said loudly to Gao Zhenzhong, a 92-year-old veteran next to him. The three were Zhang Junguo, 95, then commander of the 3rd Company of the 282nd Regiment of the 94th Division of the Kuomintang Army; Gao Zhenzhong, 92, who was a soldier in the telephone platoon of the Commander's Headquarters; and Zhang Cuiping, 89, a nurse in the nurse class of the 15th Army.

Strictly speaking, the 3 people did not meet on the battlefield, but they experienced the same rain of bullets. 71 years later, together, the 3 people have mixed feelings, "I jumped from the South City Gate of Luoyang, there are 3 floors so high, I don't know how many comrades jumped down and fell to their deaths, if it were not for jumping on their corpses, there would be no me today," Zhang Cuiping choked and said.

Remembering that the old man could not help but cry

Zhang Cuiping: Afraid of touching the scenery and living in these years did not dare to return to Luoyang 89 years old Zhang Cuiping's family lives in Beijing, and in 71 years, she has not returned to Luoyang again: "I dare not go back, the whole village is dead, there are corpses everywhere, I am afraid to go back and remember that scene is uncomfortable", zhang Cuiping told the Reporter of Dahe News at yesterday's party. Zhang Cuiping's ambulance team was first stationed in the area of Mount Yao. In 1944, the ambulance team had been transferred from Yaoshan to Longmen, and as the war situation changed, it entered the urban area of Luoyang. "Day and night continue to fight, the wounded continue to carry into the ambulance team, rescue can not come, there are a lot of blood loss and too much to watch the dead, there are also poisoned by poison gas, we have no rule of law, no medicine, do not know how to cure, died a lot of people, tragic yo ..." Zhang Cuiping recalled that scene still can't help but cry. In October 1945, Zhang Cuiping witnessed the surrender ceremony of the Japanese army at the Taihe Hall of the Forbidden City: "I personally saw the surrender of the Japanese army, and I was so excited that I didn't close my eyes overnight. ”

Zhang Junguo: Pursuing the Japanese Army, Killing More Than 200 People At the end of the Luoyang Defense War in 1944, Zhang Junguo's unit was ordered to enter Lingbao in our province from Tongguan, Shaanxi: "Marching 100 kilometers a day and night, when we reached Lingbao, the Japanese army began to retreat, we began to pursue, chased to a place called the big camp in Shaanzhou, killed more than 200 devils, and we also lost a lot of comrades..."...

Gao Zhenzhong: The basement was blown up, and the soldiers of the telephone platoon rushed outwards The 92-year-old Gao Zhenzhong was also from Henan, and when his hometown was in Neihuang and Luoyang was defending the war, he was in the telephone platoon: "We lived in the West Engineer Barracks, we have been living in the basement, it is damp and wet, we don't see the day, we only hear the shells outside, and we don't know what they are fighting." It wasn't until one day, when the exit of the basement was blocked by Japanese planes, that we began to rush out, killing more than a dozen people. ”

"You have defended the country, defended the nation, and are the heroes of the country." At yesterday's party, Huang Huinan, the daughter of the famous anti-Japanese general Huang Wei, also came to the scene and bowed deeply to the old people. The volunteer "Xiongnu", who came from Luoyang, specially gave each veteran two bags of Luoyang specialties. "Although the body does not allow it, it is impossible to return to Luoyang, but I often go back in my dreams, and I can't forget that scene," said Gao Zhenzhong, a 92-year-old veteran.

In 1944, the Japanese army launched the "No. 1 Battle Plan" (historically known as the Battle of Yuxianggui) aimed at opening up the communication line from northeast China to southeast Asia. On May 5, the Japanese attacked Longmen and the defense of Luoyang began. On May 7, the Dragon Gate was lost. Lieutenant General Wu Tinglin (a native of Yichuan, Luoyang), commander of the Chinese Army's 15th Army, was ordered to lead the 15th Army and the 94th Division of the 14th Army to hold Luoyang. On May 9, the counties outside Luoyang fell, and Luoyang became an isolated city. On May 11, Xigong lost. On May 23, the Japanese army attacked the city after more than 35,000 people, more than 400 tanks, and more than 8,000 rounds of shelling. On May 24, the city of Luoyang was destroyed and turned into a street battle. On May 25, Luoyang fell. According to records, the Luoyang Defense Battle lasted 21 days from May 5 to May 25, with 530 chinese officers killed, 13,339 soldiers, and only more than 2,000 people breaking through, and Zhang Cuiping and three other veterans who gathered in Beijing yesterday were these 2,110 breakouts. In the defense of Luoyang, a total of more than 20,000 enemies were killed and wounded.
