During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, on the basis of accelerating the construction of reservoir projects under construction, more than 100 new reservoirs were started and more than 100 reservoirs were completed.
By the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the design water supply capacity of the province's water conservancy projects has increased from 12.6 billion m³ at the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" to 15.5 billion m³, which is equivalent to adding the water supply capacity of 4 more Qianzhong water conservancy hubs, and basically solving the problem of regional water shortage and engineering water shortage in the province.

Up to now, 15 backbone water source projects will be newly started in 2021 (of which 11 are in poverty alleviation counties), with a total storage capacity of 72.35 million m³, and an additional water supply capacity of 83.74 million m³ after completion; 67 water storage acceptances have been completed, and 38 have been completed and accepted. The annual water supply guarantee capacity is 563 million m³, and the province's water supply guarantee capacity reaches 13.174 billion m³. It is expected that 10 new reservoirs will be started by the end of the year.
In terms of large reservoirs. The Qianzhong Water Conservancy Hub Project was basically completed and put into operation, the main canal was tested to Guiyang on January 28, 2018, the power station has been officially connected to the grid for power generation, and the construction of the water transmission section and branch canal from the exit of the Kaisong Tunnel to the Songbaishan Reservoir is currently being promoted.

The Jiayan Water Conservancy Hub and the Qianbei Northwest Water Supply Project passed the safety appraisal of water storage in the lower gate in August this year, and basically have the conditions for water storage in the lower gate.
In addition, maling reservoir, Huangjiawan water conservancy hub project, Fengshan reservoir has passed the interception acceptance. On November 23 this year, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the feasibility study report of the Guanyin Reservoir Project and agreed to build the Guanyin Reservoir Project.
Of the 422 small and medium-sized backbone water sources under construction, 244 engineering dams have completed the main construction (of which 184 have passed the acceptance of water storage) and 76 projects have carried out interception acceptance.
