Henan - the source of Chinese culture

Agricultural culture first appeared in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. The fertile soil and suitable climate in this area are very conducive to agricultural production, making Henan, located here, the birthplace of farming culture.

It belongs to the early Neolithic Cultural Site of Pei Li Gang (located in present-day Xinzheng City, Henan), which is 8,000 years old. A large number of millet crops remain in the site, and some of the millet crops accumulated in the cellars are more than 2 meters thick. In addition, there are stone axes, stone sickles, stone knives, stone shovels and other tools for production and life.

Located in present-day Shichi, Henan, the Yangshao cultural site has unearthed stone tools for farming, including axes, shovels, chisels, and hammers. Pei Ligang culture and Yangshao culture are typical of the early and middle Neolithic cultures, among which the remains related to farming culture reflect the early form of Farming Culture in China, indicating that Henan is the birthplace of Chinese farming culture.
