There are many brands of car air purifiers and obvious price differences, making it difficult for consumers to choose. Recently, the Municipal Consumer Protection Commission conducted a comparative test on the vehicle air purifier and found that there were differences in the purification performance and sterilization performance of particulate matter, formaldehyde, TVOC and sterilization of different samples.
All samples were released in accordance with the standard
The test purchased 20 samples of vehicle air purifiers claiming to have the properties of purifying particulate matter, purifying formaldehyde, purifying TVOC, and sterilizing on the network platform, involving brands such as PHILIPS, Haier, BOSCH, Zhimi, TCL, etc., with prices ranging from 45.8 yuan to 990 yuan.
Overall, in terms of safety, the release of harmful substances in all samples meets the standards; in terms of purification performance, due to differences in materials and technologies, different samples have differences in particulate matter, formaldehyde, TVOC purification performance and sterilization performance; some samples also have key performance parameters that are not standard, false standards, etc.
Purification performance varies widely
The purification of PM2.5, haze, dust, dust, pollen, second-hand smoke, etc. is the most concerned by consumers. Of the 20 samples, 18 claimed to have particulate matter purification properties. The test results show that there are differences in the purification performance of particulate matter in 18 samples, of which 6 have significant performance, and the purification efficiency in 30 minutes reaches 90%; the performance of 1 piece is extremely weak, the measured value of clean air volume and purification efficiency is lower than the lower limit of detection, and the purification effect is close to natural attenuation.
Of the 20 samples, 16 claimed formaldehyde purification and 7 claimed TVOC purification. The test results show that the formaldehyde purification performance of 1 of the 16 pieces is remarkable, and the purification efficiency in 30 minutes is more than 90%; the 1-hour purification efficiency of 9 pieces is 25% and below, of which 5 pieces have extremely weak performance, the measured value of clean air volume and purification efficiency is lower than the lower limit of detection, and the purification effect is close to natural attenuation.
TVOC purification performance is generally not high, 5 of the 7 pieces of 1 hour purification efficiency is less than 50%, of which 4 pieces of performance is extremely weak, clean air volume and purification efficiency measured value is lower than the lower limit of detection, purification effect is close to natural attenuation.
Some products are falsely marked parameters
Of the 20 samples, 15 claim sterilization properties. The test results showed that the performance of 2 samples was remarkable, the sterilization rate of 1 hour reached 99%, 1 sample was between 80% and 90%, and the remaining 12 samples were less than 75%, of which 9 samples were less than 50%.
The test also found that most samples only claim to have a certain purification performance, such as claiming to remove PM2.5, aldehyde, bacteria, but not the nominal key parameters, such as removal rate, sterilization rate, etc. Of the 18 samples claiming particulate matter purification, 10 were unspecified; of the 16 samples declaring formaldehyde purification, 9 were unlabeled; and 9 of the 15 samples claiming sterilization were unspecified.

1. View the identity. The identification on the packaging, such as product name, specification model, implementation standard, enterprise name, production date, etc. should be complete. Pay attention to see whether the declared performance has the support of the indicator parameters, such as the claim to remove aldehydes and sterilization but do not give any indicator parameters, it is recommended to buy cautiously. If necessary, the manufacturer can be required to provide an inspection report for in-depth inspection.
2. Measure costs. Using a filter purification of the car air purifier, the filter generally needs to be replaced regularly to maintain its efficient purification rate, do not forget to consider the replacement cost of the filter when purchasing.
3. Pay attention to after-sales. Know in advance about the convenience of after-sales service of the product, including installation, warranty period, cleaning of the product, and whether the cleaning, replacement and purchase of the filter is convenient.
