"In the cold winter of 84 years ago, the Japanese army invaded Nanjing, creating the Nanjing Massacre that shocked the world. Nanjing, which has experienced suffering, cherishes peace and wishes for harmony in the world. ”

In the early morning of December 13, the sound of recitation came out of the classroom of Ruijin Road Primary School in Nanjing. This special "cloud" class was broadcast live and attracted teachers and students from more than 30 primary schools across China.

December 13, 2021, is the eighth National Day of Commemoration for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre in China.

The end of the year is cold and the temperature is low. The national memorial ceremony for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre was held at the Memorial Hall of the Compatriots Killed in the Nanjing Massacre of the Japanese Army Invading China. In front of the black "Wall of Disaster", representatives from all walks of life stood silently, and the brooch of the peace dove shone in the morning light.

This peace watch ceremony contains people's deepest reflection on war and the deepest compassion for the dead. Pray for peace, and from here trigger the same frequency resonance.

This watch for peace transcends national borders.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it impossible for many internationals to attend the ceremony in person. Wang Haicheng, president of the Nanjing Hometown Association of Canada, launched a synchronous public sacrifice action organized by overseas Chinese groups, Chinese schools and international students around the world online, and recited the Declaration of Peace.

Netizens around the world lit candles "on the clouds", mourned the deceased, and prayed for peace.

Zhao Mei Na, a staff member of the International Peace Propaganda Department at the Memorial Hall of the Nanjing Massacre of the Japanese Invading Japanese Army after the "95s", broke through the limitations of time and space by means of the Internet, "In the global candlelight image collection activity of the 'Candlelight Festival' launched by us, there are candlelight images sent by the descendants of international righteous soldiers - Chris Maggie, the grandson of John Maggie, and Thomas Rabe, the grandson of John Rabe. ”

The European and American Returned Scholars Association of Jiangsu Province launched the "Remembering History, Listening to Peace" theme music lyrics collection activity, and letters from the United States, britain, Australia and other countries and regions came pouring in.

This watchful eye for peace travels through time.

Nearly 100 years old, Nanjing Massacre survivor Xie Guiying was absent from this year's ceremony. Accompanied by her niece Xie Xueqing, she watched the live television of the ceremony at home. The solemn music sounded, and the white-haired old man Xie Guiying could not suppress his excitement.

Xie Guiying told the China News Agency reporter: "I want to tell young people to work hard and build a better country!" I hope that future generations will always cherish peace and live well. ”

After 84 years, the survivors are withering away, and as of now, only 61 survivors are registered in the Nanjing Victims' Assistance Association for the Japanese Invasion of China. For this heavy family memory, with humiliation and grief, the survivors have shouldered the heavy responsibility of inheritance relay.

"When my great-grandmother was alive, she always said, 'History is a mirror, don't forget it, mourn the victims well!'" Ma Wenqian, the great-granddaughter of Nanjing Massacre survivor Ma Xiuying, recalled to the China News Agency reporter.

Ma Xiuying hopes that young people will cherish a happy life and become responsible and responsible people. Ma Wenqian felt that her work as a purple grass volunteer to convey the truth of history was what her great-grandmother expected to be.

In the face of history, no one can stay out of the matter. The future will be written by the people of the present.

"We propose to children and young people around the world to strive to become 'little messengers of international peace' and build a better world together: peace needs to be fought for, peace needs to be maintained; we will make unremitting efforts to achieve sustainable peaceful development in the world and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind." In the classroom of Ruijin Road Primary School, primary school students launched an initiative to the world "on the cloud".

Inside the memorial, the Peace Bell was struck. At the sound of the bell, the dove of peace rose in the air and hovered over the city for a long time. (End)
