The opening academic report on "Research on the History of the Prevention and Treatment of Major Contemporary Infectious Diseases and Database Construction" was held at the Peking University Medical College

On the morning of December 11, the opening academic report of the National Social Science Foundation's major project "Research on the History of the Prevention and Treatment of Major Contemporary Infectious Diseases and Database Construction" (project approval number 20 & ZD224) was held at peking university medical school. The meeting was presided over by Professor Zhang Daqing, Chief Expert of the Department of Medical History and Philosophy, Peking University School of Medicine.

Professor Yu Xinzhong, Dean of the School of History of Nankai University and Director of the Medical and Social History Professional Committee of the Chinese Sociological History Society, and Chief Physician An Youzhong, Director of the Department of Critical Care Medicine of Peking University People's Hospital and Director of the Department of Critical Care Medicine of Peking University Health Science Center, were invited to make special reports. Professor Tang Wenpei of Peking University, Associate Professor Su Jingjing of Peking University, Professor Liu Shiyong of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Associate Professor Xia Yuanyuan of Nanjing Medical University, Professor Xing Ye of Nanjing Medical University, and Li Wei, Deputy Director of Peking University Medical Library, respectively made academic reports. Affected by the epidemic, the opening academic report will be carried out online and offline simultaneously.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Zhang Daqing welcomed the participating experts and introduced the basic framework of the project and the development of each sub-topic as the project leader. Professor Zhang Daqing said that the successful application of the project benefited from the joint efforts of each member of the project team, and the successful development of the project also required the continuous research of the members and the valuable opinions of experts in related fields.

Professor Yu Xinzhong of Nankai University made a pertinent evaluation of the performance and contribution of Chinese medicine in the fight against the epidemic in combination with China's anti-epidemic practice, providing a new perspective for the development of the project; Attending Physician An Youzhong reviewed the history of infectious disease prevention and control and the development of critical care medicine, and affirmed the practical significance of the project for the prevention and treatment of sudden infectious diseases in the future; Liu Shiyong, distinguished professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, introduced the statistical development of modern epidemic diseases and the evolution and introduction of cause of death registration in China" Tang Wenpei, professor of Peking University, examined the process of risk discourse entering the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases from a diachronic perspective, and believed that risk discourse has become an important organizational dimension of health care, and its significance and impact urgently need to be investigated in depth; Su Jingjing, associate professor of Peking University, analyzed the changes in global health governance models and patterns with the epidemic, international situation and ideological changes with the epidemic, international situation and ideological changes; Xia Yuanyuan, associate professor of Nanjing Medical University, shared the research group's collation and stage division of the relevant policies for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in the country since the founding of New China; Xing Ye, lecturer of Nanjing Medical University, introduced the history of malaria prevention and control in China and summarized its unique prevention and control experience; Li Wei, deputy director of the Medical Library of Peking University, reported on the progress of the construction of the database of the history of major infectious diseases in the contemporary era and the research groups based on the research groups.

Finally, on behalf of the project team, Professor Zhang Daqing thanked the experts for their valuable opinions and suggestions, and put forward requirements to the project team members, hoping to launch high-quality research results in the next few years, and realize the project's vision of "opening up a new approach to the research of contemporary infectious disease history", "hooking and sinking the value of previous infectious disease data", "exploring interdisciplinary methodology" and "establishing a multidisciplinary academic team".
