Nanking Massacre survivor Cai Lihua died
The old man said before his death:
"Winter 1937
Japanese soldiers suddenly broke into my house
I watched with my own eyes as they killed my father
The mother was also stabbed and shot

Hid under the table and escaped the disaster."

Li Rufu's third uncle bumped into a Japanese soldier on patrol

His eldest sister was nearly raped by the Japanese
Qi Zhen'an recalled before his death:
"The Japanese horse team caught up with us
There was a Japanese soldier who wanted to rape my eldest sister
He tied the rope to his horse to himself
The horse in the back was frightened and dragged the Japanese soldiers away."

That winter in a small square in Nanjing

She is the 11th survivor to die this year
Ma Wenqian, a great-granddaughter who was once held in the arms of the old man
