Sell your own in an endless loop at a low price

- "The Road to Financial Freedom", 396

Today we're going to talk about money, time, and attention.

Let's listen to this sentence first: everything that can be bought with money is actually cheap.

This sentence will certainly be misunderstood, because in the basic concept or in the bones of the vast majority of people, money is the most important. This is also easy to understand, because people can feel the difficulty of making money all the time in their lives, because of the difficulty, so cherish, because cherishing is important - it seems that the logic is quite rigorous.

But as we said earlier, the most valuable asset you have is your attention, because your attention is the only resource that allows you to produce something, and if your attention is not managed well, your time is not yours.

But many people have a lot of useless time, how much? It's so much that you have to find a way to kill them, so you involuntarily enter the pit, and it's very comfortable to enter the pit.

And a lot of people say, "What do I have that much time for, or with my attention?"

We said growth earlier: you can accumulate knowledge in your professional field, you can hone your skills, you can do things that are related to your goals, you can think about the future, you can run networks, you can do more things, how can you do nothing?

But most people just don't do anything, because they haven't even taken the most basic thoughts seriously.

So let's look at the order of these three from the value point of view:

Attention > time > money

So under this value, money is actually the cheapest thing.

So if we can save time with money, it's definitely a fairly worthwhile deal. It's the equivalent of exchanging low-value assets for high-value assets, because your time is worth more and more; if you can use money to keep your attention from being distracted, it's a better deal.

For example, if the conditions are available, you can ask a nanny to do housework and cook. So even if your daughter-in-law is full-time, isn't it more valuable that she can save this time to spend more time with the children? Is it because the family will have more time to communicate without housework? The root cause of many families unhappy is that too little time and attention is invested in each other – it's as simple as that.

Our series of courses is called The Road to Financial Freedom, which means that our goal is that sooner or later we will no longer have to sell our time for a good life, because it is not cost-effective to sell time, because the value of time is higher than the value of money.

How to explain it?

For example, if we go to work, the reason why your time can be sold is because in general, it is more cost-effective for the boss to spend money on your time.

How do you say that?

If your boss spends money on your time inappropriately and you can't create more value, it means that your boss is a fool!

So write this sentence on a piece of paper, paste it where you can see it at any time, and read it repeatedly or even repeat it until it has carved a new groove in your mind. Because scientists have found that when you practice an idea, it will carve a new groove in your mind, and only in this way can this sentence play its role in your mind from now on.

Remember this sentence:

The reason why your time can be sold is because it is more cost-effective to spend money on your time.

Then you will find that each of us has the experience of having to use time to exchange money, which means that we still need to go to work to make money in the beginning, which is understandable. But in the spare time of work, many people also take the initiative to contribute their time and attention, do not focus on their own growth, this should be a good reflection.

Some people's spare time is wasted, but some people say: "I didn't waste it?" I'm going to work part-time! Including some college students working part-time, you say, "I'll make more money."

The problem here is that your time during the day is to exchange time for money, and at night you also use time to exchange money; another key is that if a person is not very focused on growth, your part-time time is most likely sold cheaply.

But what are you losing? It's about polishing your time and attention to growing yourself.

Everyone used to joke that I said that "growth is more important than success", which means that you still have to hurry to make a few more money is the real thing. But I said: If a person grows up and earns the same amount of money he earns in a year of part-time work before he grows up, then do you think it is worth spending time and attention growing?

So many people have been selling themselves at a very low price, whether it is going to work or doing business, with limited income, and they have almost all of their time in it, so that there is no time, no attention to improve themselves, so your time will always be very cheap, into a dead cycle.

The solution is to squeeze out time and attention to grow yourself.

And you find that the more people who exchange money per unit of time — that is, people with high incomes — the more willing they are to take time: not to exchange money, but to invest in themselves, to grow. Because he knows that when he grows up, he will be able to generate more income, even if he is not working.

So in this section we're going to think hard about the three resources we have in our hands: money, time, and attention, and we need to really have a clear understanding of what's the most important resource.
