On the stage in purple tones, a full moon hangs, "floating" countless calendars. The small theater stages the sorrows and joys between people, and there is love and romance. The Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center Houlang New Wave Performance Season, the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation funded the project, and the original drama "Xingxin" produced by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center was recently performed at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center Drama Salon.
The play is created by Tian Hongyi, a young screenwriter who graduated from the Department of Drama And Screenwriting of Columbia University, directed by Xu Zidong, a young director of Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, and co-starring actors Chen Jiaoying, Jiang Ke, Wei Lai, Peng Sai, Li Shigao, Gao Zepeng, Feng Jiaye and Bian Yulin. This round of performances will continue until December 26, and this winter, the audience will present a play about travel, family, life in a foreign country, and life choices. "The Heart of The Walk" is composed of two stories interspersed, inspired by the screenwriter's own experience of studying in a foreign country in the United States.
Jiang Liuyuan, who did not get a work visa, decided to die in New York, and when he began to face his own paranoia, he also began to face his relationship with his family, and after confusion and self-questioning, he seemed to see the direction of his heart.
High school student Xiao Fei is applying for a study tour, familiar with the life of studying abroad in advance, this is his mother's plan, he is not sure whether this is the right choice, but there is not enough reason to question. He was as dazed as all teenagers, but there seemed to be no other way but to walk forward. When the kite flies to the endless universe, this line, is it broken or closed...
Screenwriter Tian Hongyi wants to explore two topics with the audience through "Xingxin": people's discoveries of themselves and their own struggles in the journey; people's discoveries of their families and expectations of their families during the journey. Can these things produce so-called "meaningful" results? Can the so-called "reconciliation" be achieved? Tian Hongyi believes that "dealing with these things, sometimes it seems that the dawn is in sight, and sometimes it seems to be in a dilemma, which in itself is a reminder of our own existence." ”
Taking "home" and "family" as clues, "Xingxin" also explores people's relationship with their parents, their relationship with their lovers, and their relationship with themselves when they are in a foreign land or about to embark on a journey of life, and the ultimate core is to discuss the living conditions of people. The loneliness experienced every time you leave your family is worthy of understanding; every courage to make decisions when you are lonely needs to be affirmed; and every heart that has felt this loneliness is worthy of being embraced.
