Danny Murphy: The three teams will be fighting for the Premier League title, but I think Manchester City are the biggest favourites

Live bar December 12, 2012 In the 16th round of the Premier League, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have all played hard, but all three teams have finally won, and they are considered the favorites to win the Premier League this season. In a column in the Daily Mail, England football star Danny Murphy gave his opinion...

The most significant result of tonight's game was Chelsea's last-minute win over Leeds United, we all think Manchester City and Liverpool are strong contenders for the Premier League title, the question is whether Chelsea can keep itself behind. Being able to keep collecting points during tough times to keep yourself competitive is a hallmark of a title contender, which makes me think that this season's title race is a three-team thing and will be very intense.

The advantage for Manchester City and Liverpool is that they have a stable midfield trio and this position is so important. Liverpool's midfield trio Thiago Henderson Fabinho balances both body and play, with Guardiola currently using a midfield combination of Bernardo Silva, Rodri and Gundogan, with De Bruyne as the first substitute.

The absence of Kante and Kovacic has put Chelsea in huge trouble compared to before, and these two players have played an important role in Tuchel's tactics. Chelsea's performance will improve when they come back, so it's impressive that they can still win now.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have all played some incredible football this season and we have no problem with their compliments, but Saturday's game shows that the best teams will succeed in finding different ways to win.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all beat their opponents by a narrow margin, and all of them won on penalties, which shows how fierce the competition between them is. I still think Manchester City are the biggest favourites to win the title, followed by Liverpool and Chelsea's advantage is the least obvious. But all three teams have actually played very high-calibre football, and one of the fun we'll have in the coming months is not knowing what's going to happen to all three teams.

Chelsea will play Liverpool on 4 January next year, it will be a very important game, I don't know if Salah and Mane missed this game because they were called up by the national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.

I know people will argue about penalties, Chelsea got two penalties, Manchester City won with a controversial penalty and Liverpool got a penalty and didn't get a penalty. There's a feeling that it's easier for big clubs to get penalties, but I'd say Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have the right way of playing, they attack the pitch and always get the ball around or in the penalty area. So, it's only natural that they'll be able to get the most number of penalties. Just like buying a lottery ticket, if Thani can't pass the ball into the opponent's penalty area, then you certainly won't get a penalty.
