The hunter who moved the world of Warcraft story of never going offline

While wandering around Shatas City today, I ran to the Aldo platform (I am an astrologer lineup) and stumbled upon a green NPC under a tree named Kelly Duck, wearing an engineer head, carrying a sonic spear, followed by a baby leopard, I thought it was a player, and after the dialogue I learned that it was an NPC. Out of curiosity, Baidu went down and discovered a poignant and touching story in the history of Warcraft.

Kelly Duck

Kelly Duck is blizzard's NPC based on a real player, the player named Dak Krause, a male player in the united costume, who loves Warcraft, and Carrie is his game character name. Duck is an avid, optimistic and friendly casual player in the game, and enjoys a high reputation in both the union and the server for being helpful. Such a person with a true spirit of play and a spirit of life died of leukemia in August 2007 at the age of 28. A year earlier, Duck had learned of his illness and had written a poem for his character in his mailbox, and it was because of this poem that Daak's touching story spread in World of Warcraft. The content of the poem goes like this:

The stars seemed to have retracted their light, and they no longer shone for me.

They seem cold and indifferent, and they can't replace me warming your hands.

But I held back my tears and lived like a year,

Desperately insist on recording every moment here for you;

But loneliness soon comes, and suffering comes,

Your faded smile gently drifted away from my memory with the wind.

Don't cry in front of my tombstone, I'm not there, I don't have a long sleep.

I was the bitter wind that swept through the snowy fields of Northend.

I am the gentle spring rain that moisturizes the wheat fields of the western wilderness.

I am the quiet dawn that fills the woods of the Valley of Thorns.

I was the majestic drumming sound, leaping over the clouds of Nagran.

I am the warm stars that dot the night of Danasus.

I am a singing bird that remains in the beautiful world.

Don't cry in front of my tombstone,

I wasn't there, I never slept...

Dak's poems

After reading it, you can imagine the pain that Dak endured, the despair in his heart, and also felt his fear of leaving and his reluctance to this world, just like Kelly is about to leave the World of Warcraft, and Dak is about to die.

As soon as the poem spread, it touched the people of World of Warcraft, and unionists and players spontaneously held funerals for him. People gathered in Storm city heroes valley, marched all the way to the storm city garden area, nearly 100 players participated, and fired 21 salutes according to American customs. His touching deeds thus attracted Blizzard's attention, adding a quest to find Kelly Duck in the 2.3 version of World of Warcraft: Burning Expedition, and also named after the combination of Duck and Kelly, adding the NPC of Kelly Duck. Although Duck is no longer there, Kelly remains in World of Warcraft forever with his will.
