The city is far from as simple as you might think

Where is the "Gangnam" in Chinese's mind?

When you think of Gangnam, you will think of something.

Dai Wangshu?

Or the story of the children of the jianghu fighting in the martial arts novel?

A little further, Wang Bo's "Farewell to the Autumn River"?

"Returning to the boat and riding is like a line, and the south of the river and the north of the river look at each other."

Maybe you'll think of a lot.

But in the end, all the complexes and imaginations about "Jiangnan" will be drowned out by the same word - "water".

Large expanses of water. Along the water, the area of Jiangnan is also constant.

South of the Yangtze River and north of the Qiantang River, it has become the "Jiangnan" in most people's minds.

For some people, Jiangnan even exists only in Shanghai and Nanjing. Once taken, it becomes a microcosm that exists only in poetry.

This is not surprising, after all, for China, an agrarian civilization, water is the beginning of everything. The story of Wu Zixu opening Xu Creek and Fu Cha digging Hangou has deepened Chinese's impression of "Water Town Zeguo".

But that's not entirely the case.

For example, during the Southern and Northern Dynasties more than 1400 years ago, the Ningxia Plain was named "Saibei Jiangnan".

In the second year of Zhou Xuanzheng's reign, Wu Mingche was deposed and moved to Lingzhou. The people of Jiangzuo were eager to learn and their customs were harmonized, because they were called Saibei Jiangnan" (Sui Dynasty Lang Mao's "Sui Zhou County Map Classic" recorded: a group of Jiangnan soldiers were moved to Wuzhong, Ningxia, and they called Wuzhong Saibei Jiangnan)

After 1400, the vision of local science was greatly expanded, and "Jiangnan" went further, with Shuzhong, Yili, Ningxia, Xinyang... They have all been named "Jiangnan".

"Jiangnan" has become ubiquitous again, and among them, Nyingchi in Tibet is the most famous.

Nyingchi, Tibet, the second "Gangnam" outside of Jiangnan!

It's all because of the water.

There are two waters that give birth to Nyingchi, the "Jiangnan".

One is called the Brahmaputra And the other is called the Niyang River.

As the highest river in the world, the Brahmaputra Cuts through the Himalayas, cutting through the 2,450-kilometer-long Himalayas.

At the same time, it also forms a peculiar horseshoe-shaped rotation at Nyingchi Nanga Bawa Peak, rushing down from Metuo County and confluence with the Niyang River, forming a natural landscape pattern of mountains, water, forests and cities, forming a typical plateau valley city.

"Gangnam" also comes from this.

The first stop in Gangnam starts from the village of Gala.

From mid-March to the end of April, the village of Gala is shrouded in a huge pink peach blossom cloud, a flower, a tree, a cluster of ,...... The mountains stretch to villages, river valleys, and glacial lakes.

Different from the artificially cultivated dried peach blossoms in Jiangnan, most of the peach trees in Nyingchi are centuries-old trees, the trunks are vigorous and clumsy, and although the color is not as gorgeous as Jiangnan, there is a majestic atmosphere between heaven and earth.

When the peach blossoms in the valley bloom, the rhododendrons in the mountains begin to spit out again, and the sea of flowers is like a relay, from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, the layers of the waves sweep up, and the snow on the top of the mountain blends down into the pale pink, tender yellow and bright red of the rhododendron, just like the colorful palette of spring.

Of course, to understand the "Jiangnan" of Nyingchi, in addition to "flowers", we must also understand the "forest", after all, more than half of the land area of Nyingchi is covered by forests.

At present, Tibet's forest accumulation ranks first in the country, and Nyingchi's credit accounts for at least 70%.

The unit area of a single Bomiqi forest can reach more than 3,000 cubic meters per hectare, which is 4-5 times that of the northeast forest area, ranking first in the national unit forest reserve;

There are also hundreds of rare trees under national key protection and unique to Tibet, the oldest of which can be more than 2500 years old, up to 50 meters high, and the thick circumference is 18 meters, which can be described as the "World Cypress King".

When the autumn wind blows, there are also colorful colors such as the Lulang Forest Sea, the Deep Forest of Metuo and the Seraji Mountains.

Glaciers, snowy mountains, beyond Gangnam, not only "Gangnam"!

And "Tibet Jiangnan" does not stop there.

It should be known that the area of Nyingchi is as high as 117,000 square kilometers, which is larger than the entire Jiangsu Province and close to three times the land area of Switzerland.

In this 117,000 square kilometers of land, there are countless vast glaciers to see.

The area of its glaciers is vast and the scale is rare in the whole of Tibet and even the whole country, covering an area second only to Xinjiang, ranking second in the country.

Unlike most inland glaciers, Nyingchi glaciers are called oceanic glaciers. This glacier develops in the Indian Ocean monsoon subtropical mountain climate zone, when the Indian Ocean warm and humid air flow along the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon north, warm and humid hit the top of the mountain, forming a large number of oceanic glaciers.

The famous Nanga Bawa Peak was formed because of this, its huge triangular peak body is covered with snow all year round, the clouds are swirling, never easily reveal its true face, and the legend is that nine people do not meet, so it is also known as "Shy Girl Peak".

But at sunrise, when the steep mountain peak meets the sun, the slanting sun slowly crosses, and all the waiting becomes reasonable at this moment, and the suffering of life seems to be briefly reconciled at this time.

Even China National Geographic has made no secret of its preference for the glacier, for which they have given her the title of "China's most beautiful mountain", and visiting Nanga Bawa peak in Nyingchi has become a must-see for most tourists.

However, unlike most peaks, the beauty of Nanga Bawa is hidden in the relative height difference, all because of the Brahmaputra.

Thanks to the water vapor channel of the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon, the tropical climate zone has been pushed five latitudes north here, and many heat-driven and plant distributions have also moved northward, narrowing the obvious differences between the north and south natural zones.

More importantly, the Brahmaputra Water Vapor Channel has created a complete vertical natural belt in the Grand Canyon area, so the trip to the 7,000-meter altitude difference of Nanga Bawa has become a sightseeing from the subtropical valley to the alpine ice and snow belt.

Starting from the village of Bashika in Metuo County at an altitude of 200 meters, to the Nanga Bawa Peak at an altitude of 7782 meters, you can see a variety of vegetation from Hainan Island to the Arctic.

Even tropical fruits such as bananas, plantains, and pineapples, which seem to be completely incompatible with Tibet, can be seen here.

At the same time, a corridor of biological migration was also born here, and more than 60% of the species on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau lived and multiplied here.

Many ancient creatures also used this as a "refuge" during their Quaternary ice age.

For example, as an ancient and rare miniature insect, there are only more than 30 species in the world, and the discovery of this "living fossil" organism has shaken the world entomological community and had a major impact on the study of insect geographical fauna.

The huge drop also forms a spectacular ice waterfall, the most famous of which is the ice waterfall of the Midui Glacier, which is 800 meters high, which is 8 times the drop of Niagara Falls, like a staircase to heaven, and is a world-class glacier wonder.

When the sand and gravel carried by glaciers accumulate at the end of the glacier, they can also form, where the meltwater or precipitation of the glaciers converges, forming many small lakes. These small lakes reflect the blue sky, like stars scattered on earth.

Basongcuo, located in the town of Bahe, is the best example of this type of small lake.

Tibetans call the lake "Tso", Basong Tso is "green water", as the largest glacial barrage lake in southeast Tibet, Basong Tso set snow peaks, glaciers, forests, pastures in one, the lake water in these alpine canyons to form a crescent moon, making it praised as "a tear shed by angels".

About 100 meters from the shore, there is a hollow island floating on the shore - Tashi Island and its ancient temple "TsoSong Temple" on the island, which adds a psychic show.

At this time, Linzhi also evolved back to the original "Jiangnan".

Mountain peaches, lakes, and snow-capped mountains are intertwined layer by layer, and a "Map of Fuchun Mountain Residence" belonging to Tibet jumps out of sight.
