The cause of this incident was that ZhaoGong wanted to deal with the power of so many clans in the imperial court, which in turn led to the disaster of killing. This reminds me of the later Jianwen Emperor.
For the matter of cutting the domain, there is always no good end. So maybe this is the beginning of Zhao Gong's slander as "no way". Obviously, there will be a second one with the first palace riot, as long as the monarch is weak enough.
After eight years of Wen Gong, Lady Song Xiang finally couldn't stand it. Believing that Duke Zhao was "disrespectful" to her, she entangled the Emperor to kill Xianggong's grandson Kong Shu, Gongsun Zhongli, and Grand Sima Gongzi, and Sicheng was forced to flee to the state of Lu. Once again, these belonging to the Zhao Gong faction were weakened.
History will also herald the erosion of the monarch's power, which is destined to be a tragedy.

In the end, the throne was given to Gongzi Bao.
Lady Xiang ordered Song Zhaogong to go hunting in Mengzhutian. Then send someone to assassinate him.
For such an arrangement, Zhao Gong could only accept it silently. He knew it was the time of death.
Those who follow asked, Why did the Lord not go out to other countries?
Zhao Gong said lightly, a person who does not even support the people at home, whose courtiers do not trust him, who does not even love his grandmother, where can he still have the face to live in other countries? Let's all go, take all your belongings and run your things.
Only the wanderings remain.
He said, I can't even serve the monarch well, where is the face to serve other monarchs in other countries?
Therefore, on the way to Mengzhu, there may be only a few people left.
The pursuing troops didn't even bother to wait for Zhaogong and others to arrive at Mengzhu, and killed them directly on the road.
In their view, this is nothing more than a lamb to be slaughtered, where it is still a monarch.
Zhao Gong died, and so did The Emperor.
Gongsun Shou said that Zhao Gong died without a path.
Later historians have also acquiesced to such "facts".
Where there is no way, it is just weakness!
As the king, Song Zhaogong was incompetent. He was unable to turn the tide, but went with the flow and plunged the Song Kingdom into one civil strife after another. This may be the root cause of "no way".
Lady Xiang chose Gongzi Bao because he would bring peace and stability to the Song Kingdom.
