Because the peasant army entered Mengjin, Wang Duo, with his family and relatives and nearly a hundred other people, took a boat to the east and returned to Xinxiang. In Xinxiang, he traveled with Zhang Jinyan, then the bingbu Shangshu, to Sumen Mountain and Baiquan. In June, Zhu Changshu, the king of Weihui, was celebrating his 35th birthday, and Wang Duo wrote two poems to celebrate his birthday. There are two pieces of Wang Duo's "Monument to the Birthday of King Lu" in existence, which are famous stone carvings in the Weihui Lu Royal Palace, the first is the forest of steles of the Weihui City Museum, and the second is now in the Henan Museum.

In October, Wang Duo went south to Nanjing, and Wang Duo's wife Ma Shi died of illness.
In the early autumn of the sixteenth year of Ming Chongzhen (1643), Wang Duo returned to his hometown, found that Mengjin's old home was destroyed, and moved to Mengzhuang in the south of Sumen Mountain in Xinxiang Hui County, and buried the coffin of his deceased wife in Shuiliu Bay, the second mile east of Xinxiang City. From the autumn of that year to the beginning of the second year, Wang Duo lived in Xinxiang for nearly half a year, during which he traveled around Xinxiang and recorded the war in Xinxiang with poetry, "The wasteland has ancient temples, and fireworks are even more unbearable."
