Griffin said he wanted to play, but he knew how well LaMarcus Aldridge was playing now and his three-point shooting had to improve.

Griffin has played 17 starts this season, averaging 5.5 points per game and shooting 31.8 percent from the field and 16.1 percent from three-point range.
