On November 29, 1905, the nomination list of the 34th Golden Rooster Awards of Chinese Cinema was officially released, and Zhang Yimou was nominated for the Best Director Award for the movie "On the Cliff". This is his second nomination for best director after 17 years and 10 years after the 24th Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards nomination for best director for "Ten Faces Ambush" in 2004.
It is reported that "On the Cliff" won a total of 7 nominations at the 34th Golden Rooster Awards of Chinese Film, namely: Best Feature Film, Best Art, Best Recording, Best Cinematography, Best Actor (Zhang Yi), Best Actor (Yu Hewei), and Best Director.
