Listen to the thunder in the silence

author:A quick-witted little girl

Make water oil skin and dry oil puff pastry, skin wrapped puff pastry roll twice folded three times... In the pastry kitchen of Zhiweiguan, Yuan Yaqing's movements are like clouds and flowing water, and after being fried in the frying pan, a lifelike squirrel crisp is ready. Including more than a dozen processes of squirrel crisp, Yuan Yaqing skillfully completed in 5 minutes, seemingly relaxed, but in fact, she practiced for dozens of days and nights offstage.

Yuan Yaqing's face is calm, and the 24-year-old has been living in a silent world. This year, Yuan Yaqing won the title of the seventh "Top Ten College Students" in Zhejiang Province. There are more than 1,500 disabled college students like her in Zhejiang Special Education Vocational College, and there are 295 disabled students in the class of 2021, with an employment rate of 100%. Along the way, Yuan Yaqing and others have not only obtained personal "rebirth", but also witnessed Zhejiang's special education industry climbing to a new height.

Pastry chefs, entrepreneurial bosses, physiotherapists...

An imperfect life can still shine

When Yuan Yaqing was 8 months old, her parents found that she had a hearing impairment, which cast a shadow over the ordinary small family. While taking Yuan Yaqing to seek medical treatment, her parents poured everything out to configure her hearing aids. The love of her parents has made Yuan Yaqing grow into a girl with a soft heart and positive optimism.

"I'm living a wonderful life right now! However, I still have to try to become a useful person in society. Yuan Yaqing smiled, and there was a shallow dimple on her cheek. Influenced by her father, who loves to cook, Yuan Yaqing has been interested in the opposite point since she was a child.

Along the way, Yuan Yaqing had a grateful heart. "I used to feel like my fate was bad, but now I feel lucky." After entering the university, Yuan Yaqing's love for the opposite point and the seriousness and hard work of learning have touched many teachers.

"For hearing-impaired students, they can only see and cannot hear, and they need to watch many times to learn." Xie Dianwei, head of the Chinese and Western pastry technology major at the Zhejiang Special Teaching Vocational College, said that a lotus crisp, Yuan Yaqing has been studying for more than a month, she may not be the smartest, but she is the hardest, after school at night, she will stay in the classroom to practice until late.

Second prize of Chinese pastry making project in the National Disabled Craftsmen Competition, third prize of individual merit of Zhejiang Provincial Government, first prize of the First Zhejiang Provincial Disabled College Students Career Planning Competition, provincial government scholarship, provincial outstanding graduates... Yuan Yaqing poured out her own glory with love and sweat.

In Zhejiang Special Teaching Vocational College, inspirational students abound. Not only is there a model of employment, but also a pioneer of entrepreneurship, Chen Jiyang, a 2017 e-commerce student with physical disability, but he opened a Taobao shop and set up an offline studio during his school years, and his personal annual income exceeded one million yuan in 2020. Not only can he support himself, but also can feed the society, Kong Huahua, a 2014 rehabilitation treatment technology student with visual impairment, entered the Provincial Cultural and Sports Guidance Center for the Disabled after graduation to provide Massage rehabilitation services for disabled athletes...

"We hope that students who go out of the college will not only have a skill, but also have decent employment, decent life, and even become a model of a brilliant life." Dean Huang Hongwei believes that students with disabilities should also have a clear career plan, which is inseparable from the efforts of the school and society.

"What I feared didn't happen..."

"Integration of disabilities and health, collaborative training" is not a slogan

"Picking flowers is the most unique embroidery method of the Miao people, which does not require the assistance of pens or paper cuts..." A girl dressed in Miao costumes is confidently explaining while threading needles and threads. Her name is Mu Yan Zero, from Guizhou, Zhejiang Special Education Vocational College arts and crafts design sophomore student, although the figure is more petite than the average person, but she has a strong aura on the competition field. In the end, with her outstanding performance, her team won the first prize of the Zhejiang Provincial College Students Career Planning Competition.

Mother Yan Zero, who "wants to see the outside world", chose to go out of Guizhou when she filled out the volunteer form. After entering the university, she actively participated in student work and became a right-hand man for teachers. After being clicked by the teacher, she thought of integrating the Miao embroidery in her hometown with the live broadcast of e-commerce. "After graduation, I want to use the e-commerce knowledge I learned in school to return to my hometown to promote Miao embroidery culture." Mother Yan Zero said firmly.

However, the cheerful and smiling mother Yan Zero will also have vulnerable times, "will be a little worried, being treated differently..." Referring to her childhood experience, she couldn't help but shed tears. Before entering the school, when she knew that some of the students in the academy were able-bodied people, Mu Yan Zero's heart giggled a little.

But the nervous mood disappeared less than a semester after enrollment, where disabled students and able-bodied students ate and lived and studied together, and when running for student cadres, the students unanimously elected the mother Yan Zero. In their eyes, What Mu Yan Zero saw was not sympathy, but respect.

Integrating students with disabilities and able-bodied students on campus is the first step towards their integration into society and the teaching model that the College has upheld for many years.

At present, there are more than 2,500 students in the college, and about 62.83% are blind, deaf and physically disabled students. Focusing on serving the disabled and the disabled, the college has set up majors such as arts and crafts design, digital media art design, e-commerce, Chinese and Western pastry technology, rehabilitation treatment technology (tuina direction), rehabilitation treatment technology, special education (teacher training), special education (sign language translation), tea art and tea culture, ethnic traditional skills, preschool education (teacher training) and so on. Among them, special education, preschool education and other professional directions are for the enrollment of sound students.

"I feel very happy with my children." Fang Yunfeng is a 2017 child rehabilitation student, and after graduation, he chose to enter Jiande Peizhi School to contribute to the special education cause in his hometown. "Many of my college classmates are my role models, and I draw strength from them." Fang Yunfeng said bluntly that the experience of getting along with disabled students during college made him more understanding of disabled students. From student to teacher, he completed a "special education person" identity transformation.

"No one but yourself will abandon you!"

Eight forces to support the decent life of students with disabilities

"I often tell my students that no one but yourself will abandon you!" Li Guizhi, who is known as the "old special education person" by his colleagues, entered the Zhejiang Special Education Vocational College after graduating from university in 1999. Over the years, she has been in charge of student work, dealing with students with disabilities every day, and she said that she never felt that they were any different, and she was often touched by students.

In the recently concluded provincial higher vocational college teaching ability competition, the teachers of Zhejiang Special Teaching Vocational College performed well. After the 80s, Zhang Lei and others won the first prize for their work ""Seeing" My Voice, "Electric Light" Rural Revitalization - "Big Sound Xisheng" Deaf Live Broadcast Operation". In 2015, Zhang Lei entered the e-commerce major to teach. He not only led students to participate in various provincial competitions, set up e-commerce entrepreneurship classes, enrolled all students, proposed a credit exchange system, and many entrepreneurial models of disabled students set sail from here. In 2020, he was responsible for establishing a base for the integration of industry and education, and introduced more than 10 enterprises into the college. "These students can sign labor contracts directly!" Every time he heard the employer's evaluation, Zhang Lei was very pleased.

According to statistics, 77% of the teachers in the college are under the age of 35, and it is this young teaching team that injects vitality into the cause of special education. In order to provide a better professional platform for teachers, the college on the one hand establishes an education development fund to give teachers practical rewards; on the other hand, it opens a "famous love lecture hall" and invites experts to help.

"Last year, Zhejiang introduced a new policy to ensure the employment of the disabled, and the teacher-student ratio formulated by the provincial organization office for our college was 1:4, and Zhejiang students with disabilities were free of tuition and accommodation fees, and the bursaries and employment subsidies were fully covered..." Speaking of policy benefits, Huang Hongwei is like a number of family treasures. He frankly said that the development of special education is inseparable from the support of the government, the disabled persons' federation and all social forces.

As the first independent institution in China and the only institution in Zhejiang Province that mainly carries out higher vocational education for the disabled and the cause of the disabled, Zhejiang Special Teaching Vocational College has always been at the forefront of the development of special vocational education. In terms of academic education, the college has gradually established a channel for the integration of middle and high vocational education and professional advancement. In terms of continuing education, the College holds vocational training courses for the disabled in society every year, teaching the vocational skills of the disabled free of charge.

"Give students a bright future and create a model for the development of special vocational education in the country." Huang Hongwei believes that the "integration of the disabled and the healthy, collaborative training" education model is the bridge to the destination.
