According to Hefei Production and Investment Group, in order to achieve the new positioning and new requirements of the 12th Party Congress of Hefei City to "build an old industrial base industrial transformation demonstration zone, an old city renewal and transformation demonstration area, and an early high-quality development '100 billion district'" for Yaohai, Yaohai District launched a motor factory and surrounding land transformation project, and the area where Huachong Cinema is located is included in the scope of relocation.
After the relocation and demolition, Huachong Cinema will not be rebuilt at the original site. In the future, whether Huachong Cinema will be rebuilt or not, everything is unknown.
From "Daqing Film Theater" to "Huachong Theater"

Founded in 1950, it has always been regarded as the first cinema in Hefei. The first Liberation Cinema was built near the Mingjiao Temple, and then moved to the intersection of Suzhou Road and Middle Changjiang Road.
On New Year's Day 1952, the Liberation Cinema was officially opened, screening the domestic color film "Splendid Mountains and Rivers", which was a sensation. In 1980, the Liberation Cinema, which had been built for nearly 30 years, underwent its first comprehensive upgrading.
In 2001, Jiefang Cinema built a new No. 3 screening hall and introduced digital projectors, becoming the first digital cinema hall in the province.
Since last year, the Liberation Cinema has launched a new round of upgrading.
3. Yangtze River Theater
It is still open as usual
As one of the four major theaters in Hefei, the Yangtze River Theater was built in the summer of 1958 and completed at the end of 1960.
In the first year of opening, the Yangtze River Theater received 34 troupes and performed 299 performances, mainly drama, song and dance, and acrobatics.
It was not until 1965, when a large number of films such as "Tunnel Warfare" were released, and the domestic film market became hot, that the Yangtze River Theater began to play movies while ensuring the performance task.
After that, the hardware of the Yangtze River Theater gradually aged, and the main building was demolished in 2003.
The new Yangtze River Theatre opened on September 28, 2005. In 2012, the Yangtze River Theater was renovated and upgraded again, and the theater was expanded from the original 5 halls to 7 halls.
