Little Xiangrui! A new butterfly was discovered in Ningbo called the green-skirted vermilion butterfly

Recently, Ningbo famous plant, insect, butterfly research expert Lin Hailun in Ninghai Xidian Town, Ningbo inspection, accidentally caught a butterfly species that has never been seen before, he returned home to check the "Chinese Butterfly Chronicle", many parties confirmed that this butterfly is the "green skirted green-skirted vermilion butterfly", which was first found in Ningbo, and therefore, the number of recorded butterfly species in Ningbo increased to 219 species.

The green-skirted butterfly is a butterfly of the genus Butterfly in the family Butterfly, whose hindwings have blue-green bands on the sub-outer margins of their hindwings, and extend from the hindwings to the posterior edge of the forewings, from which the "green skirt" is derived.

Previously, the crypto-anchor moth was also found for the first time in this valley. The hidden anchor moth resembles a butterfly, especially the dead leaf butterfly. Throw it in a pile of butterflies, and if you don't look closely, it's hard to find the difference between it and a butterfly. However, being a "person with a heart" can still find the "identity code" of the hidden anchor moth, such as its antennae are not expanded, which means that it may not be a butterfly, but a moth; for example, as the sky darkens, it and its companions come out to move, and the habit of lying down at night is more certain of its identity.

Why are new butterflies and moths found in the same valley in Ninghai? Relevant people believe that this may be related to the fact that there is a large area of pristine mountainous land in the Ninghai area. At present, a total of 1596 species of wild vascular plants have been found in Ninghai County, and the rich plant resources provide an ideal living environment for insect butterflies and other large animals that live on plants.
