The "big bird" green peacock was properly housed

On the evening of November 18, the Dongyuan police station in Taiwan's business district received an alarm from the masses that a large bird had sneaked into the home. After receiving the police, the police immediately rushed to the scene, according to the description of the police, this "big bird" flew from nowhere and suddenly sneaked into the second floor of his house. After the on-site disposal and inspection of the police, this "big bird" is actually a peacock, about 0.5 meters long, some feathers on the back have fallen, the neck feathers are green, the feathers are gray, there is no tail feather, and the preliminary judgment is that it is a female peacock. The police immediately notified the local forestry department to come to the appraisal and confirmed it as a national first-class protected animal green peacock.

According to the staff of the forestry department, the green peacock often moves in groups, mainly inhabiting tropical and subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests and mixed forests below 2000 meters above sea level, especially in sparse forest meadows, river banks or groundside jungles, as well as forest meadows and open areas in the forest, and do not like overly dense tropical rainforests. The green peacock is mainly found in Yunnan and Tibet in China and is rare in number. According to relevant national regulations, individuals cannot raise protected animals such as peacocks on their own.

Subsequently, the police assisted forestry personnel in temporarily placing peacocks in the zoo for treatment and breeding.
