On February 2, 1960, at the water conservancy project site in Pinglu County, Shanxi Province, 61 migrant workers suffered from food poisoning after dinner, foaming at the mouth, convulsing all over their bodies, and their lives were in danger. After consultation and laboratory testing, the special drug dimercapto propanol is urgently needed. But at that time, medical conditions were poor and medicines were scarce. After Shanxi Province reported to the Central Committee, Premier Zhou Enlai personally issued an order to send military aircraft to airdrop emergency medicines, ensuring the timely treatment of 61 migrant workers. At that time, many units and individuals inside and outside the province provided selfless assistance, reflecting the warmth of the big socialist family. The long-form reportage "For Sixty-One Class Brothers" was later selected for inclusion in secondary school textbooks and was widely disseminated as a film.
