Socialite Paris Hilton has developed a keen interest in the crypto space, especially for the Irreplaceable Token (NFT). According to the press release, Hilton was involved in raising $20 million for the ORIGYN Foundation, a Switzerland-based nonprofit whose goal is to "unlock ownership of valuable items."

The organization supports a digital authentication platform that runs on an Internet computer called ORIGYN. The platform supports collectibles, digital media, luxury goods, art and other asset classes. The project seeks to "bring NFTs to life through biometric data and a unique ownership experience."

In addition to Paris Hilton, the $20 million strategic funding also attracted the participation of some prominent figures in the crypto space, including Coinko, Vectr Ventures, Carter Reum, Div Turakhia, GD10 Ventures, Bill Ackman, and others.

The event, which precedes the upcoming token offering, is expected to be deployed with the project's digital certificate in 2022 and brings ORIGYN's valuation to $300 million. The token, called OGY, will be publicly traded next year and will be used for consumer access to the platform's "core services" and "creating and trading authenticity certificates."

According to the press release, the funds raised will be allocated to "Expansion and Continuous Improvement in the ORIGYN Vertical" based on community members involved in its governance model.

In addition, the foundation plans to fund research and development (R&D) programs and attract more partners into its ecosystem. Daniel Haudenschild, CEO of ORIGYN Entreprise SA, said in a recent salary raise:

We are very fortunate and excited to include so many influential names in this round of funding. What ORIGYN brings to the world is unique. This is in support of what ORIGYN is working towards – using technology to solve identity, authenticity, and proof of ownership issues.

2021 was the year of cryptocurrencies and NFTs for Paris Hilton, a socialite who embraced the industry more openly after revealing that she had held certain cryptocurrencies for years. In a post titled "I'm Excited about NFTs – And You Should Be Too," Hilton explained in more detail the motivations behind her interest in digital assets.

Among them, Hilton claims that the NFT space allows her to "combine all of my creative passions" and categorizes the emerging asset class as "the future of the creator economy." Hilton also cites factors that will enable NFTs to revolutionize different fields and bring "exciting" change to artists. Hilton writes:

I plan to get bigger and stronger on the NFT, innovating, investing, and collecting (...) )。 Using NFTs, talented artists can reach audiences and potential buyers without agents or distributors, who charge fees or take a cut from sales. Basically, NFT has given more power to the creators, which I'm a proud member of.

Her investment in ORIGYN supports this claim and proves that the socialite has been and will continue to bet on the industry for the long term.

As of now, Internet Computer (ICP) is trading at $41.91, with the daily chart moving sideways.
