On November 20, Jianning County held the "Fuyuan Jianning Quanlian Feast" cooking competition, which was attended by representative teams from 9 townships and towns in the county and cooking enthusiasts.
The scene of the competition was steaming and red-hot. Dressed in white overalls and top hats, the contestants are fried and stewed one by one, carved and carved. After two hours of fierce competition, mouth-watering specialties were baked, and 120 delicious dishes such as lotus button meat, honey juice button lotus, and lotus cake were presented to everyone.

Zhang Minghua, president of Jianning County Catering and Culinary Association, introduced that the participating dishes are based on "lotus" as the ingredient, and each representative team promotes a table of "whole lotus feast", which clearly shows the local food flavor and cultural customs.
After fierce competition and the judges' tasting and comments one by one, the Huangbu Township representative team won the first prize. The event also selected 20 courses from all the participating dishes, including "Jianwei Specialty Award", "Most Promotion Award" and "Most Creative Award".

Jianning County is known as "China's hometown of lianhua", the lotus has a long history, has been planted for more than 1,000 years, the county's lotus planting area is stable at 50,000 mu, the total output of macaroni white lotus is more than 3,000 tons, the output value of the whole industry chain is 2.34 billion yuan. In 2020, Jianning Tongxin White Lotus was selected into the first batch of China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement Protection List, which is the only lotus product in the mutual recognition of Sino-European landmarks.
The competition fully demonstrated Jianning's long-standing food culture and history and culture, which is of great significance for further excavating and inheriting the connotation of local food culture, creating a characteristic catering brand, extending the tourism industry chain, and promoting the full integration of cultural tourism consumption and catering industry.
