Movie Description: "Silence" is based on the novel of the same name by the famous Japanese writer Shusaku Endo. The story takes place in a small village near Nagasaki under the Prohibition of The Tokugawa Shogunate, when a Portuguese Jesuit priest smuggles himself into Japan to preach and investigates the fact that his mentor was tortured by a "cave hanging" and swore an apostasy, because in the eyes of Europeans at that time, this incident was not only a personal setback, but also a shame and failure of faith and thought throughout Europe. In the process of mission and search, faith and rebellion, holiness and betrayal, might and humility, suffering and fear, chastity and forbearance, struggle and detachment... All the dilemmas were faced, forcing him to think deeper and more realistically about his faith in Christ, and in the end, he seemed to have gone through the path of a teacher, with his own interpretation and practice of faith.
