Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, which has a history of more than 1,700 years, was listed as one of the four major historical and cultural towns in Shanghai in 1991; in 2007, it was rated as the third batch of "China's Famous Historical and Cultural Towns (Villages);on October 14, 2016, it was rated as the first batch of towns with Chinese characteristics by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; on May 24, 2018, it was selected as one of the top 50 most beautiful small towns; in November 2020, it successfully passed the landscape quality assessment of the national 5A-level tourist scenic spots organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
