Beijing News Shell Financial News (reporter Hu Meng) On November 18, the 2021 Jiaxing Hurun Global 500 Summit Forum was held in Shanghai. During the forum, Hurun Research Institute released the "2021 Hurun Top 100 Foreign-Funded enterprises in China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan" list for the first time, referring to the two dimensions of sales and number of employees in China, listing the top 100 foreign-funded enterprises and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises that have made the greatest contribution to China's economy.

Overall, the top 100 companies involve 22 major industries, with the automotive, healthcare, consumer goods and consumer electronics industries having the most companies on the list, and the top four industries accounting for half of the top 100.

HuRun, Chairman and Chief Research Officer of Hurun Report, said: "These foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises have contributed to China's economic development, with sales totaling 5.9 trillion yuan in China last year, equivalent to 6% of China's GDP, and a total of 2.5 million employees in China, an average of 25,000 employees per enterprise. ”

It is worth noting that the China headquarters of the top 100 companies are mainly concentrated in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen, with 60, 32 and 3 respectively.

Unlike the Hurun Fortune Global 500, financial services and energy companies are relatively few on this top 100 list. In terms of rankings, Hon Hai Precision ranks first with more than 600,000 Chinese employees. Specifically, 60% of the top 100 are direct-to-consumer brands, such as Volkswagen, Apple, Samsung, Walmart, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Haifeisi, Johnson & Johnson, etc.

In addition, the average age of the top 100 companies was founded in 1930, that is, the average age is 91 years old, which is 28 years older than the average age of the "Hurun Fortune 500" companies, which is 63 years old. The earliest to be founded was Swire, which opened import and export business in The United Kingdom in 1816. The youngest is Tesla, founded in 2003.
