Zhang Zhimin believes that even if he has just joined the company, the annual salary of first-line Internet companies is at least more than 200,000 yuan, and he has set the salary target at 200,000-250,000 yuan. This salary is almost the "basic requirement" for graduates who target large factories, and some graduates interviewed believe that the salary should reach 300,000 yuan or even higher.

For the old employees of the big factories who have already joined, many people have also felt the impact of the "new generation". Wang Jun (pseudonym), an EDA engineer who has been employed in a large factory in Shenzhen for two years, told 21st Century Business Herald that as far as he knows, the salaries of fresh graduates in many positions are indeed higher, and the difference between the monthly salaries of old employees ranges from thousands to tens of thousands.

"Newcomers have low costs and potential, which can inject fresh blood into enterprises, while making old employees feel competitive pressure, and even eliminating old employees who are relatively inefficient." Wang Jun said.

According to the Ministry of Education, the number of graduates of colleges and universities in the country will exceed 10 million in 2022, which makes many graduates ready for employment early.

Zhang Zhimin is like this, he began to look for internships after the Spring Festival in February 2021, and then actively submitted resumes to the Internet "big factories".

"The starting point of the big factory is high, the platform is high, the salary and welfare are good, and some of the surrounding living facilities will be relatively perfect." Zhang Zhimin said.

According to the "2021 Fresh Graduate Employment Trend Report" released by BOSS Direct Recruitment, in the spring recruitment season of 2021, the Internet, electronics/communications and science and technology service industries, which are mainly digital technology positions, attracted 26.7% of fresh graduates.

The "2021 College Student Employability Survey Report" released by Zhaopin in June this year pointed out that college students are most looking forward to entering Internet companies and have a "big factory dream", and 25.4% of graduates hope to enter the IT/communication/electronics/Internet industry.

Expecting to enter the "big factory" is a very realistic choice for graduates, which means that their salaries can be several times higher than the same batch of graduates expect.

According to the "2021 College Students Employability Survey Report", the expected salary of fresh graduates is concentrated in the range of 4000-6000 yuan (monthly salary). "If you can enter a large factory, the salary should be about 300,000 yuan before tax, and I am personally satisfied." Li Xia said that he mainly invested in data analysis and business analysis positions, and has now received offers.

However, for the old employees who have entered the "big factory", they are facing the impact of the "new generation".

"It's normal for fresh graduates and old employees to 'hang their salaries upside down', young is the cost, and it is not uncommon for their salaries to be a few thousand yuan more than old employees." Wang Jun said, "But if I let myself speak, I am not satisfied with the salary growth after joining the big factory." ”

For Internet companies, youth is indeed "capital". According to the "2021 Programmer Group Insight Report" released by 55.5% of the programmers released by 55.5%, followed by 30-35-year-old practitioners, accounting for 32.1%, while the proportion of programmers aged 35 and above is just over 10%.
