Save lives! Yanjiao firefighters dedicate their blood to ignite the hope of life of children with leukemia

"Thank you uncle firefighter for donating blood for me, you should also pay attention to your body!" I'll see you when I'm discharged from the hospital. On the afternoon of November 17, a short 9-second video taken from the inpatient ward of Lu Daopei Hospital in Yanjiao, Sanhe City, Hebei Province, was posted to the WeChat of Han Guangzhi, an instructor at the Yanjiao Fire Rescue Station in Sanhe City.

In the video, the 9-year-old girl Xiaofei is cheerful and lively, her voice is childish, and finally she made a loving shape with her hands. It is difficult to see that this cute little girl is suffering from the pain caused by leukemia.

At 5 p.m. on November 16, the Yanjiao Fire Rescue Station received a call for help. On the phone, Ms. Liao from Guangdong Province said that her 9-year-old niece was suffering from acute myeloid leukemia and was being hospitalized at Lu Daopei Hospital in Yanjiao, and was going to undergo a bone marrow transplant on November 23, but encountered a "blood shortage" in the hospital and urgently needed 800 ml of type O blood reserves. In desperation, she asked the firefighters for help.

After receiving the call for help, Han Guangzhi immediately contacted the helper and Lu Daopei Hospital to understand the patient's basic situation and relevant information.

"There are difficulties finding the fire brigade. They are a ray of sunshine for my special family. In a WeChat chat with Han Guangzhi, Ms. Liao said emotionally.

The firefighters of Yanjiao Fire Rescue Station heard the news and enthusiastically signed up. "As firefighters, it is incumbent upon us. I'm glad my blood type matches the patient. As long as everyone gives a little love, the world will be a better place. Firefighter Ji Hailiang said.

At noon on November 17, four firefighters with blood type O at the Yanjiao Fire Rescue Station came to the hospital and checked their body temperature and blood under the guidance of doctors. On that day, 2 eligible firefighters donated 400 ml of blood.

"Our family came to Yanjiao from Guangdong for treatment, and we were not familiar with life and had no one to rely on. The firefighters, whom we had never met before, came in time to help, just like family and made us feel very warm. "The patient's family is grateful for the selfless help of the firefighters.
