After 30 years of caring for more than 100 left-behind elderly people in the village, she said she was tired but could not let go of the burden

author:Gu Yue said history

An Xiangshu is the secretary of the village branch of Wangxian Village, Wangqingmen Town, Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. An ordinary-looking Korean rural woman.

When she was 24 years old, she was elected by the villagers as the village women's director. The reason why everyone chose her is because she is kind and simple, respectful and loves the young.

Before An Xiangshu married into Wangxian Village, her husband's family was very poor: the second elder was sick in bed, and her husband's brother left three children in urgent need of support. It can be said that if this matter were left on ordinary people, they would not be willing to marry it.

But An Xiangshu is different, she not only married, but also resolutely took over the burden of taking care of her in-laws and raising her nephews. Serve and care until the two elderly people are sent away and the children are pulled up.

The treatment of the disease owes a huge amount of money

In An Xiangshu's view, no matter how difficult the situation is, it cannot rival the industrious hands. But Heaven loves to give the kindest people the harshest tests.

In 1989, An Xiangshu's husband was found to have a serious liver disease and began a three-year long-term hospitalization, which cost an all of An Xiangshu's family's savings and owed a huge amount of 210,000 yuan.

During that time, An Xiangshu traveled back and forth between the hospital and the village, worrying about expensive medical expenses and running for the livelihood in front of her, which can be described as physically and mentally exhausted. Fortunately, the equally kind villagers in the village extended a helping hand to her, not only raising money and materials, but also doing farm work for her when she was too busy to do the farm work in the field.

It is these heart-warming actions of the villagers that allowed An Xiangshu to survive the most difficult time. Years later, when An Xiangshu recalled the scene again, it was still difficult to hide the gratitude in her heart, her voice trembled slightly, and tears flashed in her eyes.

Perhaps it was these warm hands that provided An Xiangshu with a steady stream of ten ten years of perseverance in caring for the elderly left behind.

Go abroad to work to pay back the money

After her husband's illness was cured, the huge amount of 210,000 yuan owed for her husband's treatment became An Xiangshu's heart disease, which was raised little by little by the villagers!

In that year, no one had a lot of money in their hands, and Ahn Xiangshu did not want this money to be owed for too long, so she resolutely decided to go to South Korea to work. At that time, the young people in the village liked to go abroad to work in South Korea because the salary was relatively high and it was not too far from home.

An Xiangshu's thought at that time was to earn money quickly, earn more money, pay back money early, and she should be worthy of the trust of the villagers who lent money to her. Others only earn two or three thousand yuan a month, and she can earn tens of thousands of yuan a month. For An Xiangshu, who has no professional skills, it means desperate.

Two years later, An Xiangshu returned to her hometown and paid back all the money she owed to the villagers. Then she chose to stay in the village again to serve the villagers. Soon, An Xiangshu was elected secretary of the village branch, and her kindness and good qualities prompted her to take care of the left-behind elderly as part of her job.

Selfless care for the elderly left behind

Left-behind elderly people are vulnerable to danger, especially in the winter during the peak of elderly disease attacks. In order to ensure the safety of the elderly, An Xiangshu decided to walk around the village every morning and evening, greeting and talking to the left-behind elderly people who needed to be cared for.

However, An Xiangshu soon found that this would not work, because there were too many left-behind elderly people, and if they did so, there would be not enough time to visit every left-behind elderly person. So An Xiangshu came up with a way to judge whether the old people were safe by seeing whether the chimney was smoking, whether there were footprints in front of the door, and whether the snow was cleaned. In this way, she can basically take care of every left-behind elderly person.

An Xiangshu said: "(When the time comes) the chimney does not smoke, I have to hurry over, because it may be that the old man left behind is sick." It's cold here in winter, and if you don't burn kang, you will freeze to death. ”

There are two left-behind elderly people in the village named Sun Deok-so and Park Chung-wook, who have always wondered why every time they encounter difficulties, Ahn Heung-sook can arrive at their house in time, as if they can pinch and calculate. Later, I learned An Xiangshu's clever tricks in small talk. It was even more praiseworthy to her.

This is just the work done to ensure whether the left-behind elderly are safe, as for which left-behind old man's home has leaked roof in daily life, which left-behind old man's home has no water, which left-behind old man's home has no firewood, the left-behind old man is sick, and so on, these are all things that An Xiangshu has to worry about every day.

Because most of the young people in the village go out to work, there are many elderly people left behind, an Xiangshu's workload to take care of the elderly can be imagined, coupled with the daily work of the village party secretary, An Xiangshu is busy every day, often until one o'clock in the morning to sleep, and five o'clock in the morning to get up.

The high-intensity work made An Xiangshu tired of a problem, but she had always been a little sick and did not go to the hospital, and she never left the village unless necessary, because she was afraid that the left-behind elderly in the village would have temporary difficulties and no one to help.

"Over the years, I've been out for basically no more than two days. After going out for a long time, I can't put down something in my heart. An Xiangshu said.

Since the children of the left-behind elderly are not at home for many years, whenever the elderly are sick and need to be hospitalized, the signature is generally An Xiangshu. The doctors and nurses at the county hospital often quipped to An Xiangshu: "How many parents do you have?" ”

The husband of the elderly villager Park Soon-bhun died in 1999, leaving her and her seriously ill son and her sick granddaughter. After An Xiangshu understood the situation, she took care of Park Soon-fen's family for more than ten years, whether it was a lack of money or materials, An Xiangshu would help solve it in time, which can be said to be a must-have.

In 2008, Park Soon-fen's son, who had been seriously ill for more than ten years, died of a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, leaving an old man and a young man, lonely and bitter. The old man was suddenly helpless, grief-stricken, and unable to bury his son. After An Xiangshu knew, she paid out of her own pocket and single-handedly covered up the funeral of the Park family. The old man saw that An Xiangshu was busy for his son's funeral, and did not rest for several days, holding her and crying. An Xiangshu hugged the old man and said, "Don't cry, big lady, from now on, if you have anything to do, you will find me, you will treat me as a girlfriend, and I will give you a pension to send you to the end." ”

Since then, An Xiangshu has really been like the old man's own daughter, washing and cooking for the old man, and helping the old man chop wood and pick up stacks.

During the 2010 flood, An Xiangshu was not at ease that the old man was at home, so she took the old man and her granddaughter to her home to take care of her. Also in the winter of the same year, the 86-year-old Park Soon-fen died peacefully under the meticulous care of Ahn Heung-sook, the "daughter" for more than a month.

An Xiangshu's behavior has won the praise of the villagers, but there are also times when she is not understood and blamed.

There is a left-behind old man surnamed Zheng in the village, the children are not around, An Xiangshu found that the old man had brain hemorrhage and sent to the hospital when he was no longer working, after the old man died, An Xiangshu and Zhang Luo the villagers helped to handle the aftermath. Don't look at the children of the old man usually do not ask, wait until the old man has been buried for safety, he began to complain about An Xiangshu everywhere, saying that An Xiangshu did not let the doctor perform craniotomy to save the old man's life, did not wait for the old man and children to come back and then handle the aftermath, etc., the words complained like a knife to the ground to cut an Xiangshu's heart. Fortunately, everyone in the village knows the actual situation of the elderly, and they have counted the old people's children who are not filial piety, and there is no distinction between good and bad.

Although she sometimes encounters white-eyed wolves, An Xiangshu does not retreat from this, and still dedicates herself to taking care of the left-behind elderly people in the whole village, which has been done for more than 30 years!

In the past 30 years, she has taken care of more than 100 left-behind elderly people in the village and sent more than 60 elderly people to the end of their lives. Even in those years when communication was not yet developed, because she could not contact the children of the deceased elderly, even the aftermath was handled by her.

When the reporter asked her what her greatest wish was, An Xiangshu smiled and said, "What I am most happy about is that my children have taken the (left-behind) old man away for a reunion." If it's all like this, I'm happy to be tired. ”

When the reporter asked her if she was tired of doing so, An Xiangshu said frankly: "I feel very tired, but I just can't put down this burden." ”
