Reporter: The "Western United-2021" exercise has attracted widespread attention from the media and the public at home and abroad. Could the spokesperson please introduce the highlights and achievements of this year's exercise?

Tan Kefei: The "Western United-2021" exercise recently ended at the Army's Qingtongxia Contract Tactical Training Base and achieved a complete success. The exercise anchored a new height in major-country relations, opened up a new realm of military exercises by major powers, explored a new model of joint account training, and achieved the purpose and effect of strengthening Sino-Russian strategic mutual trust, deepening exchanges and cooperation, and tempering the actual combat skills of the troops.

There are many innovative breakthroughs in this exercise, and it can be said that there are many highlights. First, the leaders of the defense departments of China and Russia observed on the same stage, and State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe and Russian Defense Minister Shoigu jointly observed the real-force action exercise, held talks, and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents. Minister Wei also invited Minister Shoigu to visit Minning Town, a demonstration site for poverty alleviation cooperation between the east and the west, which was personally proposed by President Xi Jinping and personally promoted, to jointly feel the great achievements of the CPC in the past 100 years of the founding of the CPC and the achievements of poverty alleviation work, which increased the political significance of the exercise.
