This year's NHK Red and White Singing Contest will be hosted by Hiroshi Oizumi, Haruna Kawaguchi, and Mayuko Kuda, and on the 19th announced the list of singers who are expected to star, including KAT-TUN, Awesome City Club, Kami-Shiraishi Moe, Snow Man, DISH//, BiSH, Hirai Dai, Intai Budai, Mafumafu and Millennium Parade × Belle, a total of 10 groups.
Hall-of-fame singer Ishikawa Koyuri participated for the 44th time, with more than 10 participations including Tomomi Sakamoto (33 times), Yoshimi Tendo (26 times), Seiko Matsuda (25 times), Kiyoshi Higizu (22 times), Kaori Mizumori (19 times), Perfume (14 times), Masaharu Fukuyama (14 times), Yuzuko (12 times), as well as Hoshino Gen, LiSA, NiziU, and the Tokyo Incident.
