On the morning of November 15, the burial ceremony of the remains of martyr Zhao Dan was held in the Kaiyang County Martyrs' Cemetery. More than 150 people attended the meeting, including Wang Hong, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Kaiyang County People's Congress, relatives of martyr Zhao Dan, cadres of the two committees of the Feng Sanzhen and Fallen Village Branches, and cadres and masses from all walks of life.
In the morning, the Kaiyang County Martyrs' Cemetery, located on the shore of the East Lake in the county seat, was filled with flower baskets and wreaths, solemn and solemn.
The green mountains wept for it, and the homeland mourned for it. The white wreaths and tears in their eyes pinned on the vast number of cadres and the masses to mourn the martyr Zhao Dan and recalled Zhao Dan's short and glorious life.
At 11 a.m., the burial ceremony was held. The family held the remains of the martyr Zhao Dan, and the firefighters of the county fire rescue brigade slowly walked to the martyrs' monument holding the urn of the martyr Zhao Dan, and gently placed his remains and urns in front of the martyrs' monument. After the solemn national anthem, Wang Hong introduced the life deeds of the martyr Zhao Dan. Accompanied by a low mourning, all the staff paid tribute to the martyrs in silence, bowed, and presented flowers to the martyrs.
Subsequently, the family of martyr Zhao Dan gently put his ashes into the tomb and the stone stele was covered. In the future, the martyr Zhao Dan will be accompanied by Qingshan Cangbai and buried in the Kaiyang County Martyrs' Cemetery.
Zhao Dan was born in August 1996 in Fengsan Town, Kaiyang County, where his father was also a soldier. In September 2015, Zhao Dan joined the army and went to Longnan City, Gansu Province to participate in fire fighting.
Since the floods began in August 2020, torrential rains in Longnan City, Gansu Province, have triggered flash floods, and many rivers have exceeded the alert water level. At 9:20 a.m. on August 13, the command center of the Longnan Fire Rescue Detachment received an emergency alert, and the road in Fanchang Village, Shangde Town, Wenxian County, was blocked due to flooding, and a pregnant woman with ruptured amniotic fluid needed emergency rescue. According to the dispatch of the detachment command center, the commanders and fighters of the Wenxian Fire Rescue Brigade quickly rushed to the scene to rescue, during the rescue operation, Zhao Dan and his comrades-in-arms transferred the pregnant women and their husbands to the power rubber boat, and the rubber boat overturned when driving against the river, Zhao Dan disregarded his personal safety, struggled to rescue the pregnant women who fell into the water, and was swept away by the flood due to the rapid flow of water, and unfortunately died heroically.
Without leaving a bold word, and too late to say a word to his parents, Zhao Dan died with a short period of 24 Spring and Autumn. On August 16, 2020, the Ministry of Emergency Management approved Zhao Dan, a firefighter who sacrificed himself in the flood rescue and rescue, as a martyr.
