  Modular teaching mode

In the traditional teaching model of Australian universities, a semester is usually 12 weeks, and students are required to take 4 courses at the same time during the semester and take a final exam at the end of the semester. Students will be under greater academic pressure. For international students, studying 4 different courses simultaneously in a second language, completing assignments and essays at the same time, and preparing for exams in one to two weeks often do not achieve the best learning results. The University of Victoria broke with the traditional model and became the first university in Australia to adopt modular learning.

VUBlockModel differs from the traditional way of teaching – modular teaching is divided into 10 blocks per academic year, one module per 4 weeks; in each module's learning cycle, students only need to take 1 course. At the same time, the teaching model adopts a small class size of up to 35 people, and students have more opportunities to have one-on-one discussions with teachers. The curriculum and teaching are highly engaged, effectively enhancing students' motivation and interactivity. Changes brought about by modular teaching:

The overall pass rate was 92 percent, with 54 percent of students with distinction or higher

Small class sizes – classes of up to 35 people, not hundreds

The study of each course is completed in 4 weeks, rather than lasting half a year

Exam results are obtained within 3 days instead of waiting 1 to 2 months

If you need to retake it, it will only take 1 module in time, not one semester
