According to the "World Journal" in the United States, the famous calligrapher and painter Fu Wenyan died in San Francisco on the evening of November 7 at the age of 102. Fu Wenyan's son Fu Weimin said that his father was in good health, writing and painting from time to time, and recently he was hospitalized for a cold, and his condition did not improve and died, and his mother instructed everything to be simple.

Born in Shanghai in August 1920, Fu Wenyan zimei, whose ancestral home is Renqiu, Hebei, his father is a senior seafarer, and he became very interested in painting in Qingdao as a child, copying the famous Paintings of the Song and Yuan Dynasties published by the "Forbidden City Weekly" day and night.

In 1946, Fu Wenyan was recommended by Wang Yachen to teach Zhang Daqian, entered the Dafeng Hall, and became Zhang Daqian's proud disciple and right-hand man during the Shanghai period. Fu Wenyan has always remembered the process of worshiping the teacher more than 70 years ago: "I saw Mr. Zhang Daqian's works in the gallery of Daxin Company, fell for it, and had the idea of worshiping the teacher. Four years later, when Wang Yachen's teacher Yunyin Lou on Jianguo Middle Road in Shanghai met Mr. Zhang Daqian, he privately confided to Master Wang his wish to worship Zhang as a teacher, and Master Wang immediately agreed and acted as a shaosuke. According to the custom of worshiping teachers in Dafeng Hall, under the arrangement of Mr. Chen Dexing, the housekeeper of Mr. Daqian, he asked the chef of Shuyuan to cook shark fin seats and carry out gifts such as wool and ink paste, and in Li Qiujun's home, in the atmosphere of red candles and red tables, I and my insider Li Puru prostrated ourselves in both directions and performed the traditional worship ceremony. ”

It is said that Fu Wenyan was deeply praised by Zhang Daqian, and whenever Zhang Daqian went to Shanghai, he would meet with him and hand over the fine works he had completed to him to copy, and the painting industry also greatly developed. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zhang Daqian lived in Shanghai for a long time, and Fu Wenyan visited every day and witnessed no less than 500 masterpieces of Daqian. Among the early disciples of the Great Wind Hall, Fu Wenyan was the most important of the Great Thousand Instruments, and he could carefully view the true treasures of the Great Thousand treasures "Han Xizai Night Feast Map" and "Dong Yuan Xiao xiang Tu" in the inner room of the teacher. At the beginning of 1949, Zhang Daqian left Shanghai, and before leaving, he summoned Fu Wenyan and Chen Congzhou to hand over the seal of "Dafengtang Tongmenhui" and the "Dafengtang Tongmen Record" engraved by Tao Shoubo, but he did not expect that teachers and students would be separated from each other from then on.

Fu Wenyan was listed in the 1947 edition of the "Annals of Fine Arts". After 1949, he worked as a middle school Chinese and picture teacher in Shanghai, and since 1962, he has been invited to teach fine arts at the Shanghai Theater Academy, and after the reform and opening up, he was hired as a librarian at the Shanghai Museum of Culture and History.
