Every story is incredible, and every character makes you awe-inspired. Today, we introduce you to a Lin'an photographer who flew with a broken arm mountain eagle in the fire - Zheng Longhua.
Zheng Longhua was born in Jincun, Heqiao Town, Lin'an, Zhejiang Province, when his father Zheng Zhujin served in a certain unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force in Hangzhou, and his mother and grandfather worked in the family farm. Zheng Longhua's life in swaddling is basically taken care of by his grandmother.
In the early spring of 1959, when it was warm and cold, Zheng Longhua, who was less than one year old, was almost destroyed. At noon that day, grandma went to dinner to see her grandson sleeping soundly, afraid that he was frozen, so she moved the brazier to the bed, but on this move, Zheng Longhua's fate in life was completely misplaced. Zheng Longhua, who was less than a year old, fell into the brazier.
Two weeks later, with a loud cry, the God of Death was finally repelled by the love of the crowd and Zheng Longhua's tenacious will to life. The father, Zheng Zhujin, was adamantly opposed to amputation and insisted on keeping as much meat ball as possible on the child's hand at all costs.
If it were not for his father's original insistence, perhaps, Zheng Longhua would never have had the opportunity to love his lifelong photography career because of amputation. For half a year, the two clusters of flesh that had survived the disaster finally stubbornly attached themselves to Zheng Longhua's life with the love and hope of their relatives, helping him through the stormy life.
In the spring of 1966, the wildflowers in the mountain village were particularly infested. 8-year-old Zheng Longhua went to primary school to register for school, but because he could not write, the teacher did not accept him.
That year, when other friends were studying at school, he drove a herd of cattle and ran along the side of the road in the field. He finally felt the inconvenience and difference caused by the mutilation, and also understood that learning to write may be more important than learning to eat.
He began to learn to write with two meatballs. The skin is worn, the blood crusts, the scabs are shed, and the skin is reborn. In the face of suffering, Zheng Longhua's will to live was also like the skin on his hand, forming a thick layer of cocoons.
The following spring, when the red flowers of Yingshan Mountain bloomed again, Zheng Longhua walked into the school again, grabbed a pen in front of the teacher, and skillfully wrote down his name and "Long live Chairman Mao!" A few words. He finally pushed open the door of the school with his broken hand.
Because of the lack of strength in his hands, Zheng Longhua had to stand and write with his chest against the tip of the pen, so, despite his short stature, he had to sit in the last row to avoid blocking the view of his classmates. From elementary school to junior high school, he has been standing like this, standing like a tough memory and scenery in the eyes of his classmates.
What makes the teacher feel happy is that this child with a strong personality has studied very hard and his grades have always been among the best. From primary school to high school, from the Red Soldiers, the Red Guards to the Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Zheng Longhua is like an indomitable phoenix flying against the wind, and his academic career is a proud history of struggle and glory.
In 1972, when Zheng Longhua was in the second year of junior high school at Shirui Middle School, the Revolutionary Committee of the Lin'an Education Bureau issued a document calling on teachers and students in the county to learn from Zheng Longhua, and he went to schools to give speeches and perform calligraphy on the spot, covering the land of Lin'an.
In 1975, Zheng Longhua, then secretary of the Youth League Committee of Changhua Middle School and a school pacesetter, was facing a difficult choice in life. In 1976, Zheng Longhua took the initiative to invite Miao to come to The Kongjiashan Primary School of Gaoshan Primary School at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters as a private teacher, the classroom rebuilt by the grain depot, the principal, the teacher, and the director of general affairs are all concurrently appointed by himself, and the language, arithmetic, and art must be done personally, however, it is such an environment that the students he trained actually won the first place in the whole commune examination.
In 1977, he went down to the mountain and served as the class teacher of the junior high school grade of ShiRui Central School. What is even more exciting is that in that year, when the college entrance examination was resumed, Zheng Longhua's university dream of interrupting for two years seemed to be in front of him. But fate and Zheng Longhua made one joke after another.
In the 1977 college entrance examination, Zheng Longhua applied for the university and went online, but the physical examination was brushed down; the next year, the examination was re-examined, and the secondary school was re-examined, although it was listed with high scores, the physical examination was again stuck. Those two mutilated meat balls completely blocked Zheng Longhua's college dream. Every year, the school has a quota of private teachers to be regularized, but they always pass him by.
With deep helplessness and pain, Zheng Longhua bid farewell to school and has been sinking and falling in the pressure and struggle of life. Who knows, Zheng Longhua's personality and resistance to defeat just opened another door of hope for him. This is the so-called desperate situation.
In 1982, Zheng Longhua wrote a letter to Cha Jingguang, a friend of his classmates studying at Fudan University in Shanghai, telling about his inner struggles and depression. There is a reference to the "photographic incident".
Che Jingguang is now a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Physics of Fudan University, and he is very forward-looking at problems. In his reply, he encouraged Zheng Longhua to use photography as a means of making a living, and only by first gaining a foothold from the perspective of survival can he expand his career.
Soon, Zheng Longhua received a Seagull 4B Type 120 camera sent by Che Jingguang. Zheng Longhua was dumbfounded, this machine cost 120 yuan, which was a huge amount of money at the time, and what was even more embarrassing was that in the face of this precision instrument, he had no way to start, and even the frame could not be opened.
For the next half a year, Zheng Longhua nestled at home every day, and this camera ear grinding, the most difficult to deal with is to adjust the focal length, can only hold the camera with his left hand, squeeze the knob with his right hand, and rotate the machine by friction. One side of the skin is worn, and then the other side, with the painful flesh ball, but also have to soak in the development water to wash the photo, that burst of heart-wrenching pain, is the original gift that photography brought to Zheng Longhua.
Later, just as Che Jingguang expected, Zheng Longhua first solved the problem of food and clothing through photography. In 1984, Zheng Longhua went to Shanghai for the first time to participate in the National Instant Art Photography Grand Prix, and won a special honorary award for a painting "Beautiful Painting Can't Be Finished".
The legendary story of Zheng Longhua's handless photography was once rumored to be a beautiful talk, and the media such as Shanghai Wen Wei Po and Shanghai Television Station made special reports, and China Youth Magazine also made follow-up reports. This is a turning point in Zheng Longhua's photography career from grain to art, and it is also a major turning point in life and love.
In 1986, Zheng Longhua handled the transfer from agriculture to Africa and became the librarian and photography officer of the Changhua Branch of the Lin'an Cultural Center. During this time, he received thousands of letters from readers across the country, including many followers of love.
In 1989, Zheng Longhua was transferred to the Lin'an County Civil Affairs Bureau to prepare for the establishment of the Lin'an Disabled Persons' Federation, and served as the vice chairman of the first Disabled Persons' Federation. One day, Ms. Du Anguang, the chairman of the board, received a letter from a girl named Wang Caifang, who felt very admired after watching the feature "Handless Photographer Zheng Longhua" broadcast by Lin'an TV, and the story of Zheng Longhua's struggle with fate deeply infected her.
On New Year's Day 1991, Zheng Longhua and Wang Caifang finally got married. The Civil Affairs Bureau made an exception and gave them a set of fund-raising houses.
In 1994, their daughter Zheng Ze was born. The birth of her daughter brought a lot of joy to the family, and the financial burden was also added.
Wang Caifang resigned from the supply and marketing cooperative, rented a façade not far from home and opened a grocery store. It opened for 7 years. Under the meticulous care of Wang Caifang day and night, the business of the daily miscellaneous shop is not bad. Slowly, they cleared their debts and the days began to moisten.
In 1997, Zheng Longhua was a great success in Hong Kong, and his work "Tomorrow is Better" won the gold medal of the 1997 "China Photography News" Film Friends Friendship Competition and the "Five Ones" Project Award of Hangzhou, and the following year, he was approved to join the China Photographers Association.
In 2000, his film "In the Holiday" won the first prize in the social documentary category of "Dynamic Moment" in Hong Kong, and the whole family was invited to Hong Kong to receive the award. Standing on the podium on the 39th floor of Shangri-La on hong Kong's main island, Zheng Longhua hugged his wife Wang Caifang and daughter Zheng Ze, and said a thousand words of thanks to the tears. The return of Hong Kong is the second milestone in Zheng Longhua's photography career after the Shanghai Instant Photography Contest.
In January 2001, Zheng Longhua was transferred from the Disabled Persons' Federation to the Lin'an Literary Association as a professional cadre of photography creation. In April 2001, they paid a three-bedroom down payment for a real estate company in Lin'an by way of a mortgage. On July 13, 2001, IOC President Samaranch announced that the 2008 Olympic Games would be spent in Beijing. On that nationally boiling night, Zheng Longhua was also overwhelmed with emotions and could not calm down.
A more ambitious photography project around the Olympic Games is brewing and maturing in the heart, that is, from this day on, it began to plan ahead, self-financing, photograph 100 disabled elites across the country, before the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, hold a large-scale film festival of "Light of Life" and publish a picture album dedicated to the Beijing Olympic Games.
In 2006, Zheng Longhua was honored to be elected as the president of the Lin'an Photographers Association, and in June of the same year, the handless photographer Zheng Longhua's dialogue with 100 disabled elites in China was fully launched.
In three years, 34 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, north to south, left and right, eighty thousand miles of road Yun and Yue, he and his assistants set off from Nanning, all the way bumpy, transfer buses, minibuses, three-wheelers, tractors, and then climb on foot, a full 12 hours, although the face is dirty, although the feet are smelly, the mind has never been so clean and steady.
