Through the current two issues, we can also see the program team's full malice towards the "film critics" group.
The audience seats in the program are composed of two groups of people: the "Mass Movie Watching Group" and the "Professional Film Appreciation Group". To put it bluntly, it is "general audience" and "film critic".
It is reasonable to say that film critics should be more professional and use their knowledge to popularize science to ordinary audiences in order to promote the latter's progress in the aesthetics of watching movies.
However, the "film critics" presented in "Director" "do not see professionalism, only arrogance".
For example, after the screening of Bao Bell's film, one of the film critics and associate professor Meng Zhong of the Beijing Film Academy said: "Director Xiang Guoqiang is a graduate of the film academy, and it will not be a problem technically." This sentence is not only abrupt and arbitrary to an unreasonable extent, but also directly reflects the bad atmosphere of "holding each other and protecting calves" in the circle. It is difficult to know whether the person's statement is like this, or whether he has encountered a scissor hand for some reason.
After the screening of Bi Zhifei's "Spring in a New Small Town", film critic Wang Xudong asked him a question on the subject: "Have you seen Fei Mu's other works?" "Where is his oriental aesthetic embodied?" Specifically a few".

A fact that must be admitted is that at present, in China, the reputation of the "film critic" industry is difficult to say well - perhaps in the eyes of many people, these people are either "talking with money" or "in the clouds, pretending to be profound" and so on. Originally, in the face of this situation, "Director Please Advise" could have built a bridge between professional film critics and ordinary audiences, so that the two groups could understand each other and find resonance as much as possible.
But alas, it did not.
On the contrary, for the sake of heat, it amplifies and even fabricates the separation between "film critics" and ordinary audiences. Throughout the show, the two sides are constantly inciting confrontation, exacerbating the tearing of word of mouth and the aesthetic gap.
Perhaps, we should not expect a "topic variety show" to be high, after all, people also have to eat.
But when eating, we must also pay attention to eating.
